Hi topcat,
I agree you should not believe everything you read on the internet or in print; little is substantiated by totally unbiased credible sources. I ´m sure your words resonate with many, especially any person who has been on the wrong end of something and feels aggrieved; it ´s normal.
I hope less people will read this than read your posts, I have written a long post, and said nothing related to anything I use this site and others for, my point in writing this.
regardless of what they are selling, product, idea, belief system etc have kind of hijacked many of the information systems or at least try to as much as possible.
Using the web to promote, giving it the look of being unbiased by quotations has always been a credible, or should I say viable way to add respectability. Of course it can be, but also it cannot be.
Fear can sometimes only be overcome by taking in massive amounts of information which is not marketing based.
As you say, marketing does not have to mean the commercial promotion of a product or company; everything is marketing based in life, social interaction, whether deliberate or natural, positive or negative. A pseudo theological website for example is certainly marketing based.
You are personally marketing.
I post quite a few fitness photos in my own thread. The reason being is that it s part of something bigger I m working towards
I could say this guy is just being helpful, or I could say, he wants to get his point across, maybe marketing? Maybe he can piggy back off others and use it in the future for personal reasons? What ´s wrong with that, nothing, free marketing, using the web to promote what you re working towards. It ´s a lovely bubble of irony we live in.
Using the negative positive is also a great way to install a sense of probity, you don ´t have to believe me, research yourself, read the book, go on, I dare you says the nameless salesman, you give the reader the source material to confirm your opinion, it ´s great! It endorses the premise being promoted but without having to cross reference any facts, just emotion. The herd mentality working well, shepherded into a thought process, it s been going on for millennia.
Not marketing based is an oxymoron by your own definition regardless of what they are selling, product, idea, belief system etc If you believe in research and education, then it make sense to liberalise information, so it is easily viewed. A business website, you want people to only rely on those? No? But hold on, I ´m lost.
You said a few time that you don ´t mention names because it ruffles feathers, what do you care whose feathers you ruffle? So you know things and don ´t say anything, how does that help anyone researching. The reason being is that it s part of something bigger I m working towards
Emptor cavete does not only have to refer to purchasing a product or service it can also apply to what we believe or put trust in.
You can fool some of the people some of the time, but not all the people all of the time. Knowingly doing wrong of course it is wrong, it should be exposed for what it is with fact to ensure the some of the times becomes smaller and smaller. We all make mistakes, some have bigger consequences than others, normally because we sometime make choices emotionally, so to set my own caveat, in no way do I condone or understand how a person could do harm to another.
I was troubled you wrote to a person on here:
Maybe in fact that is why you are having this experience to help someone else in the future.
You mean this? This guy was chosen to get a bad result? This is not rational.
I opened this topic to confirm what I think I see, note the word see and not believe, you have confirmed it though, with every reply you made without input from me.
Reward does not have to be for financial gain, there are those that totally altruistically give back, but they rarely shout the loudest but go about their way with measured reasoning. You protest too much without saying anything that constructive most of the time. I have a mind, and sure everyone else does here, we come to read about hair things, not McDonalds, and your theories on the big bad world, why not make your own platform for that.
