Pimples - spots 4 months post op

Hi all.... I'm 4 months post op. I'm still having pimples on my crown and some around my donor scar. I've been popping the ones on my crown as they were full of puss, once popped they heal quickly.... The ones on my donor closure are sore lumps with no puss. Is it normal to get these 4 months post op?
I've been applying a warm compress which helps to some extent, they last for what seems like weeks.

Sounds like Folliculitis and it can typically be seen after hair transplant surgery in both the implanted and donor wound. It is usually due to blockage in the exit pores of the sebaceous gland (skin oil glands). Following obstruction of those pores that can occur after hair transplant surgery, sebum (skin oil) cannot be emptied to the skin surface and instead begins accumulating underneath the skin surface. The result is red or white head-like pimples. Recovery is generally spontaneous and a warm compress is usually a good aid to help with recovery.
If too many of these lesions develop, or if there was any sign of secondary infection (i.e.- redness or swelling around the area) you may occasionally need to use antibiotics. -

Hi Bullitnut, am I ok popping the puss out of these? I don't want to damage any grafts.

At 4 months the grafts are secure, popping will not do any harm to them.

You should squeeze the white heads as you are doing, if they are just red you are best to leave them alone. You won't damage any grafts at this stage. If you get a cluster of spots you might have an infection and should talk to your Doctor as a course if antibiotics might be needed as Bullit says.

Great topic I have a few spots this time around however I have only popped one as it was really not moving , as stated by members dont touch the one which are just red with no head as that will just inflame them , at present I have one right at the front centre line and I am just putting Tea Tree oil on it which seems to be working hopefully am not damaging any grafts .

I'm relieved you guys are all saying it's ok to squeeze the the ones with heads on, now I know I'm doing the correct thing... I don't have clusters, just intermittent ones here and there.I'll try rubbing some oil along the donor line where they don't squeeze.

Make sure there are no trapped hairs that become ingrown hairs as these can lead to more complications.

I had pimples/spots in my crown area which I popped if they had a head on.
As for ingrown hairs, you could truly taking pictures, position a magnified mirror to see or if someone knows about your HT have them take a look.
If you have a spot that won't go away check it out and apply a warm moist cloth to it to try get the hair to break through the skin.

The folliculitis is normal and i wouldn't worry dude as the guys say at 4 months they are secure. If you eventually need to go the antibiotic way then iv'e read that antibiotic creams like Fusidic acid or bactroban ointment are good, however i'm no doctor and would ask you to please check with a physician first. These should be available in pharmacies.

My pimples have cleared up after a course of Antibiotics... I'm so relieved as there's no more itching and soreness.
