Hello I’ve been debating a hair transplant for around 5 years now. I have a thinning crown and reseeding hair line. When I first looked into this my research took me towards Dr De Reys as I had heard good results and he had worked at ProHairClinic which has a good reputation.

I’m now in a better position financially to go ahead with the HT and sent off some pictures to a few clinics for cost estimate.

The clinics I’ve narrowed it down to are below along with their quotes

ProHairClinic hairline only, 2500-3000 graphs at €6500-€8000
Dr De Reys hair line and crown 1500 graphs in hair line 1000 graphs in crown £6000
Dr Couto (not heard back from this dr yet)
Dr Lupanzula hairline only 3200 graphs €11000
Dr Hakan Doganay hairline only 4000 graphs €8000

Obviously the best price is Dr De Reys but he is also the lowest graph count. My decision is still leaning towards him for my HT

Could people chime in with their opinions or experience please. My main goal is to get a good HT and not have to have another one for many many many years to come if having another one at all.

Thank you for your time

Looking at your quotes it would seem 4 of the 5 clinics think you need a larger amount in the hairline. You mentioned you don't want to have another transplant for many many years but what if you go with the smaller amount in the hairline and it doesn't look thick enough, what then?

Hey Balding Man welcome to the forum Sceptic makes a good point....What is your current hairloss actually like (any pics?)and if your balding at both the hairline and crown which bothers you the most dude? Depending on how bad the crown is you may get away with a larger amount of grafts up front and a lighter coverage at the crown....to me the hairline is the most important as that's what you see in the mirror everyday and that's what others see when speaking to you... but obviously everyones concerns and issues are different so I get it if the crown bothers you more.

". My main goal is to get a good HT and not have to have another one for many many many years to come if having another one at all. "

That's a goal that many will have but realistically we would need to see photos, age, medication etc because hair loss is progressive, so unless stable then subsequent surgery can be a reality and medication in synergy with surgery may be the option then for achieving the goal. If you are losing in the hair line and crown then it is also important to see the hair quality across the scalp and signs of possible miniaturisation etc so you can then plan.

Great if you just need the one sitting, and hope it is the case. But as said here, photos and information would help people in then giving opinions.

All the best.

Hi Friend

Some great advice here and I will only give my opinion on my own experience , I was just like yourself I wanted everything in one session, was that possible yes with combination of FUE and Strip together which I decided on ,to when I went to the Clinic and spoke with the Team their I decided only get the frontal 3rd done and after 8 months I went back for the crown , this is one of the most important decisions your going to make for yourself and its not cheap , take it step by step if your donor can supply everything that is required for 1 sitting FUE then maybe its winner for you but only the Top Surgeons will give you that advice , wishing you all the very best
