Would anybody know what this red spot, rash is around the back of my scalp
I also have it appearing above my top scar slightly to the right.
I know it's nothing to do with the transplants, just i noticed it about 10yr ago, never had it before?
Thanks

Hi Phil.
It looks like inflammatory skin which has a few common causes like Eczema or Dermatitis. It could be shampoo irritating the scalp. Try a mild anti-dandruff or medicated shampoo to see if it clears the problem up.

I get this with certain shampoos like BM mentions it could be your shampoo. Have you changed brands?

I don't remember the name, it's one off the shelf. I'm at the WfI conference in France. I'm back on Monday, will post the name then.
You could ask your GP too, they might be able to prescribe something if your scalp itches.

Topical is hard to get in the Uk. I'll have more information on it soon.
Propecia is quite expensive when compared to Finasteride.

I personally started on Proscar back in 2005 and then switched to Finasteride a few years later. I'm still taking Finasteride to this day.
So, for me, it would be Finasteride.

Sorry for the late reply. It is called X-Pel. I used to buy it from Amazon, then I found out the Pound shop sell it, so I will buy it from there in the future. It is a therapeutic shampoo that helps with Dandruff, Psoriasis and dry scalp.
They are still working on the live feed for FUE Europe. Maybe ask Dr Cole if he has it available.

.

Pound shop seems to sell lots of good stuff , my local one sells caffeine shampoo like the one advertised on television, does it help with hair loss?

Personally, I don`t think the Caffeine shampoo does anything. There are no clinical studies where it shows it prevents or promotes hair growth.

It would be better if you consult a doctor regarding this before it gets worse. Make sure to go to a good doctor who is having a good experience in this field.
