Reputable Clinic North West

Hi all, my first post, so apologies if this has been addressed already. I'm looking at an FUE, mainly for my receding hairline (and a bit around the crown.)
I've had a total of 5 consultations in the North West of England, with various clinics, however the advice, number of grafts and price have all varied massively(Grafts varying from2,500 to 5,700. Price varying from £1.60 to £3 per graft.) Some suggest not to fill in the crown or the top of the scalp due to the risk of shock on existing hairs whereas some say go for it along with finasteride. I've just been left completely confused and a bit trepidatious about the whole procedure. Does anybody have any recommendations for a good clinic in the north of England? (Or ones to avoid?)
Also, I'm looking to be as discreet as possible when I get my HT. probably a stupid question but would either of the following be feasible/recommended -
  • Shaving my head to about a 1mm, then repeatedly doing this for 4months post HT (to get through the shedding phase and allow the hair to all grow at the same time.) [/*]
  • Only shaving the donor area and keeping the top long, to cover the recipient area as well as possible. [/*]
Thanks in advance.

Have you consulted with Farjo clinic? They have loads of results on here. The ones you have consulted with, make sure you know who will be doing your HT. You don't want any old Tom, Dick or Harry doing it, as is the case with many of these so called best in the UK clinics.

Hi BigMac,Thanks for the reply. I haven't tried Farjo, but I shall. I've looked at KSL, liverpool hair and skin clinic, uk hair transplant clinic, Harley street healthcare and the private clinic of Harley street.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised by Farjo. I believe DHI and Vinci are in Manchester too. If I were looking to have another HT, I would use KSL, In my opinion, their design and artistry is not as good as other clinics.
Remember, a hair transplant takes skill to create a good natural result, not every doctor has this, lots of wannabe pretend doctors around these days.

Completely agree, Farjo are very experienced and very ethical. I personally wouldn't use any of the clinics that you mentioned you have been in touch with (just my opinion). Take your time and research on here dude you won't go far wrong then. Just be careful as there's some shady clinics out there.
If i were you i would take note of BM'S advice he has seen many result's in person over the years and knows what he's talking about. If your planning having a HT here in the UK then consulting with Farjo and the Maitland clinic are a must in my opinion.
Good luck in your research pal.

Thanks for the response. It €™s nice to get some objective advice. Have since read up about Dr Kumari and my gut instincts appear to have been accurate. I €™ve emailed both Farjo and Maitland and await a reply.
Thanks again.
