Hi guys
Just had my ht with smg, and I have to say I don't know what I was worried about, the whole process was a breeze.
All the staff were amazing, so friendly and efficient, like a well oiled machine lol. Del was the only one in when I arrived, due to the snow most people were a little late(snow in April, wow) he managed to keep me entertained till the rest of the staff arrived. I had my consultation with doc Ron and discussed what I wanted to achieve and what he thought was realistic and we came to a conclusion that suited us both, tho I did make his job harder as I didn't want him to cut my shave my hair, he said this would make it more difficult but had no qualms about doing this for me. With my hair at the stage it is the doc wanted it to look natural if further hair loss occurs which I totally agreed, so I didn't really get what I initially thought I would but Iam still very pleased with what we decided on. I will also be starting finnastride when I get home so we will see where I am in a years time and go from there.
I would just like to say to anyone who is about to use smg for their ht that that u are in the best of hands, their primary goal seems to be patient comfort and satisfaction, a combination not always found.
Well I think I've waffled enough fir now, I will post pics in the next day or so.

Oh, bn the breakies are not as good as the ones u had, no sausage burgers here, i think u would running across the road for your burger fix lol.

Nearly forgot
I had 2300 grafts, not sure how many hairs yet or size of strip I will ask janna today, she may even load that up and my pics if I ask nicely.

Cheers guys:T::T:;););););)

So you said already>C>::. Thanks for making us feel badly.

The weather's not bad today. The sun even peaked out a little. The snow quickly melted yesterday.

Adrian had his surgery yesterday and we're happy that all went nice and smoothly.

Because Adrian worried about being noticed after surgery, both doc and patient decided on a smaller session to avoid shaving the recipient area. A modified cut was made in the central area but the work should be easily camouflaged by surrounding hairs.

Dr. Ron stated that Adrian has very good laxity so he preferred to go wider and shorter length of donor strip. This preserves one side as virgin territory for future donor harvesting. Adrian €™s hair is long enough in the back to easily cover over the sutures. He shouldn €™t have any problems covering up the work in few more days.

@Adrian- thanks again for documenting your progress for everyone. Hope you enjoy your day touring around Minneapolis.

Strip size: 1.5cm width x 17.5cm Length

Total Graft/Hair count: 2280/4565

1 hair grafts €“ 506

2 hair grafts €“ 1281

3 hair grafts €“ 475

4 hair grafts €“ 18

wow!! that looks great, this is going to look awesome when grown out. Good to see the pictures showing the redness fading as this concerns a lot of potential patients i would imagine.

Any closer pics of the donor closure J?

Thanks for posting the pics....really happy for ya dude

Cheers bn, janna loaded the pics for me, I don't think we had a close up of the closure but I will do one as soon ad I get home.
The redness issue was one that concerned me before the op so hopefully people can see how quickly it does fade, mind mine is pretty well hidden when my hair is dry.

Hope it's still sunny over there, awful here lol. Just tried to see a twins game for it to be called off just as I got inside the stadium, bloody typical, never mind.

I would also like to rake this opportunity to thank everyone at smg. They are doing a great job there. Even if I did have to bribe them with a tin of royal wedding biscuits lol.

The donor is very clean and there wasn't any tension so we expect it heal well into a fine line. I'd be really surprised if it resulted in large scar. I did not take any donor closure pics. There isn't much to see. To me they all look the same unless there's some unique circumstance.

What a shame the game got postponed!!! Doesn't happen very often...what luck! Wonder if they'll do a double header today or Sunday?
Yea the biscuits went pretty fast. Not sure if they raffled the container yet...lol. But yea, you can bribe us with cookies, or chocolate works too.

Too bad you couldn't have taken in the Twins game on Sunday. It was beautiful out and we won.....that's the important part. We won on Saturday too but it was a blow out, plus it was cold and cloudy out. Did you get to look around field and the stadium at all Friday before game cancelled? It's really a nice venue.

Hope your trip back home went smoothly. We look forward to following your progress. Hope you heal well. You know where to find us if you have any concerns.

the sutures are slightly visible, if anyone asks just gonna say i had an accident and had to have sutures. the actual transplant area is 99% undetectable. iam really happy so far, roll on month 4 onwards.

hi janna

when i went to the stadium on friday i met two local guys and they swapped my friday ticket for one for saturday, so i got to see some action and he seemed pleased too get my ticket which he said would be played later in the year.

it was a lovely day on sunday, i walked around the lake of isles and all the posh houses, very nice area, just need a million bucks and i will be back to buy mine haha.

thanks for all your help, everything seems ok so far, just a little tender at the back of my head.

i will continue to update as the months go on.
