Thanks for all the kind comments

I have been really busy lately with a new job so am a little late with my update. Here are my pics from 7 months and 1 week. My hair just keeps getting better. Am so pleased. My hair is a little long at the moment so am off to get my hair cut. I used to hate going to the hairdressers. Now? No problem.

These are taken with almost dry hair. No product at all.

Hi Stingray,

Delighted with your progress and the freedom you must feel. Hope you're enjoying your hair.

I remember reading on either this thread or your first one that you were able to leave the house without concealer for the first time in years. Can you remember how long you waited before using concealer after op 1 or 2 and was it Dermmatch or Nanogen?

After my op I kept my head shaved for 3 months but for my next one I would ideally grow it back ASAP and may need a hand hiding one or two thin bits along the way.

Obviously the area needs to be healed and if I thought for a minute I could irritate the transplanted area by applying concealer then I would just grit my teeth and do without.

Cheers.

Apologies for the lack of updates in recent months. With my new job and new hair the HT forums have taken a bit of a back seat in my life.

Martinvain - Didn't see your question until now. I used concealer probably about a month or so after my HTs. Basically, I used it when I felt there was no danger of it irritating the skin (ie when it was 100% healed). I used a variety of different concealers. Not sure if this is recommended by the docs or not.

I am coming up to a year after my 2nd op so I thought I would put in an update. The below pics are taken with no product in my hair.

I have found in the last few months that the quality of the hair is improving and it is taking on the characteristics of the surrounding hair even more. I have a new girlfriend who plays with my hair and has absolutely no idea that I have had anything done. In fact, she asked me the other day if I thought I would ever go bald... heh.

In short, I am absolutely delighted. I know that as my hair loss progresses I will have to get another HT at some point and BHR will be my first port of call.

Hi Stingray

Many thanks for the updates as usual.

As you say nearly a year and then still maturity comes and this is often the case and something we say regularly as the hair continues to go through cycles.

Looking good and glad you are happy with the result so far.

Stingray, looks really good. It must be nice to be able to style your hair anyway you want and just get on with the day.

Thanks Steve and Topcat.

The best bit is not having that constant worry that my hair looks unnatural. I wake up in the morning and my hair is mess... just like everyone else. It is a huge weight off my mind.

Stingray good point about the naturalness. Many on the forums just don €™t get that many transplants need to be styled a certain way and that style needs to be maintained in order for it to pass as normal. A good majority of patients need to worry about the slightest wind exposing a scar or making their hairline look odd. That certainly is no way to live in constant fear.

Having a woman be able to run her hand through your hair without giving it a second thought has to be the ultimate test of the naturalness of a hair transplant.

You are also a good example of the patience that is needed and why most often it €™s the best road to take. What you have achieved most of all is ease of mind.

Congrats Stingray, it was rockier road than it should have been but you got there in the end and your hair looks great.

As mentioned already, it's the complete naturalness of the transplanted hair that makes it for me.

Thanks for such clear documentation of your results, particularly the bad results, I would imagine it's a lot harder to post them than good results, they helped draw much needed attention to the poor FUE work of Armani.
