Just thought I would post a before and after shot to show how things have come along as a comparison as there are so many pics inbetween...

OK.. you guessed it.. just an excuse for me to post more pictures of me !!

Just a reminder... the HT area was only at the front... the improvement to mid and crown are down to Proscar....(maybe a little help from Rogaine, once a day)...

I agree. And it's great the meds have worked to thicken the back 1/2 of your head too. You could be a poster boy for the positive effects of meds. :)

Anyway.... things seem good and I am happy at the moment..

One thing I will say is that I am convinced that my hair is shedding at the moment.... there seem to be far too many in the bath each morning... also I "think" my hair seems thinner...

This could of course be my imagination, maybe ??

One thing I mentioned on another thread was the low carb diet I am on at the moment, which I think I have ruled out.. the other is that I started a new batch of Proscar about a few weeks ago... same brand as before... apart from that everything else is the same... same shampoo etc etc...

Again.. maybe this is just me being paranoid ??

Will keep an eye on it..

NN, you did mention something about seasonal shedding, I guess this is more likely when coming up to the warmer weather ??

Hi Tim

The meds have made a great improvement to your hair in the crown area.

You probably are going through a shed and being paranoid about it.I go through the same thing thinking i`m losing more.

Glad its all starting to work out for you now.

Cheers bm.

Seasonal shedding cannot be ruled out, also remember that your HT's are all coming together and have different growth patterns. Try not to freak about it and stop counting the hairs going down the hole. You're looking good and best wishes for the future.

Tim,

how many grafts did you get? I was perusing through your original post again but didn't see the #. Your hair looks really good...& your thickening behind the ht area is reminding me to start popping that proscar!

PS can you 'model' :T: some other hair styles for us mop-O-philes too? If you can get away w/slicking it back like that, I bet it would look pretty killer pushed forward & up towards the front...the 'spikey' look (?)

Congrats again! Z:B

Hi N2...

Nice to see that your now back after what must have been one of the most research filled HT's ever :)

My graft count was about 2,500... will have to double check that one... not too sure about the number of hairs... but I guess around the 5000 mark ??

Am having my hair cut tonight, probably too short again... but I will have a play around with it, just for you... but also only in a very hetro way !!!!

Will sort some pics out soon....

Well...

Just an update...

I am 110% positive I am shedding hair like there is no tomorrow...

I have hunted back over all my previous pics to compare like for like... but I have realised that I they never had any consistency.... ie angles, light etc etc.... and to be honest look so different its hard to tell...

Maybe BigM or Janna will remember seeing my hair from the meet in London and could give an opinion on this photo...

Maybe the "good" pics I posted before were much better than "real life"....

Anyway... here is one today taken in natural light...

I obviously wasn't at the London meet up(shame-would have liked to help jack that bar bill) but the density is what I would expect for 2500 FU considering that you really didn't have a lot of native hair in the frontal 1/3. It is very likely that you are shedding and ofcourse freaks people out when they see lots of hair in shower but you might just be losing what you are gaining with propecia. Again, possibly just a seasonal or temporary shed. To me the pics look the same, especially considering this is in direct sunlight. I also believe that length of hair will make a hell of a difference in the look of density. When my hair is just slightly longer I feel like I almost have a full head of hair and when cut short I ofcourse don't have same coverage and can see more scalp. Just some thoughts.

Hi Tim

It looks to me like you have gone a little thinner from when i met you in London, this will most likely be a temporary shed, nothing to worry about.Just got to ride it out.

It's hard to say, the lighting in the hotel lounge is certainly different than outdoor lighting but I'm sure you're not imagining the hairs in your shower. Hopefully it's a temporary shed and you'll re-gain majority of it back. As for pics Dr. Ron took in London, I wouldn't hope for clarification or confirmation one way or the other from his pics. His camera was not working right and the pictures he was able to see didn't turn out well. The lighting too was very poor. Sorry about that.

I know it's easier said then done but try not to stress about the shedding.

Cheers guys and gals...

Yep, I think I have shed but am not stressing... its strange but I think I am all "worn out" over my hair issues... going to give it time.. what else can I do..

I started Scuba Diving lessons last week, funny as I had put them off for years as I was paranoid about my old HT showing and scar etc when my hair was wet... now I dont care... just go with the flow.. I think I have reached a point in my life where I realise so much has been affected by my "hair" and "old HT" worries... that I have decided enough is enough... enjoy life...

Glad to hear it Tim.

Janna--you guys still let Ron operate the camera? I remember he took a pic or 2 of me and they looked like I was 20 feet away.:)
