Be wary of television (TV) marketing promotions. And please be aware that TV shows while they may put you in touch with someone that could/could not help you, this is a form of exploitation that potentially millions of viewers can see.

And it could be that in the end you potentially could be left in a position that your "condition" was not improved but everyone knows who you are from the exposure.

I bet many veteran poster here would say the same thing.))N_)

I would agree with hairtech as I don €™t like the concept that an outside group is going to determine who is a leading medical care specialist. It €™s nice in theory and it would seem like a simple answer as opposed to investing the time to research on one €™s own but it more often than not can turn out very badly.

What many fail to understand is that many of these doctors that were doing poor or unethical work were highly touted back in their day. Doctors like Bosley and Brandy had extensive write ups in various publications and their work was always described as cutting edge. The methods of promotions are exactly the same today and the only thing that has changed is that they are presented in electronic form. So many that are doing research using internet forums only are doing exactly what many of us repair patients of today did many years ago except we used printed media.

Most of the editors of those publications were in it only for the money and not for the benefit of the reader. Just like too many of the forums we now see on the Internet. So my question would be who are they considering leading medical care specialists? May we see the list? What criteria is being used to decide who is leading edge and what qualifications does that person making that decision have? I mean seriously look at some of the recommended lists being put together today and look at the judgment of those putting the lists together. We all know about the list put together by the guy that thought good judgment was putting his own perverted homemade Internet porn on the web. I don €™t want to beat a dead horse here and many might find it funny, but it €™s not. Why because we are hair transplant patients? How about we send your kid to a doctor this same guy puts his stamp of approval on, maybe now it €™s not so funny. Yet these same doctors feel its good judgment to be on that list.

As far as being exposed my opinion would be that most repair patients are too embarrassed to have their identity known. We feel foolish that we let this happen to us and didn €™t know any better. In fact I often here the same term used over and over by repair patients, we were idiots. No one would like to be perceived as being an idiot. But I also believe that when a repair patient reaches a certain level of returning to normal the opposite occurs. They no longer are ashamed of showing their face and more willing to let others know about their experience and how they eventually made the right choices and turned it around. So I believe this show can avoid exploitation if the patient was actually helped. It actually becomes an interesting life experience and a great story to tell.

As far as it being free, that becomes a very tempting piece of fruit for someone who has no experience with what can go wrong and are very distressed about their present situation. I €™m not sure that I like that approach. I was presented with a few opportunities over the years where I could have moved forward with very little expense but I just couldn €™t do it as I felt it would have been a bad decision. Those that are desperate I €™m sure would make a different choice.

This is true in some TV programs... however if the producers - researchers of the proposed show have HT veterans taking part.. a realistic and truthful account can be portrayed.
