Very uneven growth after 8 months post FUE

Saline solution is fine to store the grafts. They are usually kept chilled to enhance the survivability.
Was it a separate person that placed your hairline?
After surgery did all the grafts shed in the hairline?

I don’t recall them keeping the grafts chilled to be honest. There was another girl working on the grafts and I only remember seeing a set of Petri dishes I think.

I remember there were two techs working on implants, one on the left and one on the right. The guy who worked on the right kept going with the rest while the other tech (girl) disappeared for a while.

A number of the grafts that grew eventually shed after a month or so. I don’t recall the areas that weren’t growing by day 9 ever growing to be honest. I think they just slowly disappeared over the course of a couple of months and never came back.

Have a second opinion from a different doctor just in case they see something your doctor may have missed. Look for a Dermatologist too as you may need that biopsy or the very least your scalp examined.

I’m seeing another clinic about the possibility of PRP next week, will see what they think about the lack of growth too.

The nearest private clinics I can find that will do a biopsy are charging around the £800-£900 mark for it, which I assume is the going rate. I’ll suggest it to the other clinic on Monday and see what they say.

To be fair the guy I spoke too seemed pretty frank about it, which was good to hear. He basically said that for it to work then there needs be something existing to work with i.e. diffused hair loss where there is hair still present. He then used a flower analogy to explain it haha. Explained my situation to him and he said while there’s a chance PRP may not be a viable option he’d be happy to take a look at me and let me know what he thinks.

I only enquired about it, but explained that it would be for areas of a hair transplant that hadn’t grown. He said that if there’s no hair there to work with then it may not work, but he’d be happy to take a look under the magnifier and let me know what he thinks. So I guess it’s just the second opinion I’m looking for. They do FUE too so will ask if he was to repair it in a few months time how many grafts does he think would be necessary to fill it adequately

Hi guys

Just thought I'd provide an update on my HT situation.

I decided to go ahead with a second (no cost) procedure with the original clinic on 20th March, which will have been roughly 10.5 months after the initial procedure. There was no difference in growth between January and now, so didn't think it made much sense to wait another 2 months. They estimated around 1000 grafts, however I don't think they used as many in reality.

The grafts do seem to have grown longer than they did after first procedure post scab removal (9 days), which I feel is certainly promising this time round. Fingers crossed they remain this time!

It appears a few have already fallen out, particularly on the left side. I know they're supposed to after a few weeks (you could almost say I'm an authority on the subject now lol) but considering what happened last time it does unnerve me. WIll post another update at 1 month mark.

Hi Bigmac, apologies for the delay in response.

Post op healing is going ok in regard to there being no issues as such, I'm at the 2 month mark now so still in pretty uneventful territory at the moment. I've started having PRP treatment of which I had my second session last Friday, whether it's of any benefit remains to be seen. Anyway, on with the pics -

It still looks pretty red. Do you have sensitive skin? I don’t know if the PRP will do anything to improve growth. Just got to wait it out again and hopefully you get a good yield this time.

Sorry again for the late reply. My skin can be somewhat sensitive but not overly so. Any redness may be down to the recent PRP treatment I'd had around the time of the previous photos.

So it's been a little over 3 months since my second HT procedure, and I'm starting to get some growth now thankfully. Fingers crossed for a few more hairs to emerge over the coming months.

Well I'm not entirely sure the PRP did anything or not, but I had to give it a try just in case I was one of the small number of people that may actually benefit from it considering my previous experience. Regardless things are finally starting to look hopeful now. The new hairs are still a little curly and unruly, but hopefully in time these will thicken up and be tamed. Anyway here is my 4 month update -
