I am a 50 year old woman with alopecia diagnosed as male pattern baldness (but it does not involve receding hairline). It has not responded to Regaine or to Spironalactane. I first noticed it after swimming in my early 20's when my children were tiny. It is stable, but I am less and less able to cope with it as I get older. I comb my hair and kid myself that I look okay, but if I see my reflection later or in a photograph, I see my ears through my thin side bits, and I know that it is the same on the top. I am tempted to go the FUE route, but it feels wrong to spend so much, when other people are struggling to pay the bills. And a silly aside, how do we deal with regular colouring our hair, over the approach and grown on periods of such treatment?
