Possible follicle loss ?

Hi, I wonder if anybody could advise if losing the attached small hairs on day 8 after my hair transplant is deemed normal ? I have lost between 3 and 7 per day over the last few days out of 3000 grafts. The clinic says normal and there is a percentage of loss after a transplant op but I’m not convinced ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi Dan,

Did you take pics of the other grafts that fell out? It’s difficult to say based on the one picture but it does look like a shed graft, which is normal to go through.

Hi, no I didn’t take pics, they all looked very similar though, I am just fearful that they have only been in a week and a few coming out already.

One of the follicles looks like a husk/shell that has been shed naturally, the left one looks curled which may suggest the graft was stuffed in to deep or too tightly.

Doc said all normal but I have my doubts

You have only noticed a few like this, worst case scenario they are damaged, it should not impact on your final result.

Couple or 3 a day mate and now I’m at day 10 im trying to get rid of the scabs and there is a lot more that look like this coming out

It sounds to me like normal shedding of grafts. Expect 60-70% of the transplanted grafts to shed in the next 8 weeks. Try not to worry.
