Five months and no new hair Dr Turan - FUE Capilar

Not that I've noticed but I'm hopeful.
I've stopped looking every day or touching my scalp trying to feel new hairs.
It's possibly down to age, I've noticed over 50's tend to have slower growth than younger men.
There's no reason it shouldn't grow so looking at the next 3 months to see It grow.
Better late than never.

Good, patience & stress free mind is also needed for hair growth with transplant or other treatment.

It looks like your hair is denser so it`s probably just growing in with a slow subtle change.

The clinic has got a little bit defensive and said I should have followed the doctor's recommendation to take Minoxidil.

He said:
if the subcutaneous blood flow is not good enough many grafts won´t survive because they can´t get enough nutrition.

I pointed out that Minoxidil isn't Mandatory.

I get what they're saying and if they had said I must take it, then I would have.

Did they put that in writing that you should have used Minoxidil afterwards?
There is no guarantee it would work for you and what if you got side effects from it. Would they insist you have to use it with sides?

It was just a recommendation, not mandatory.

They still saying I should take it now, I'm not sure it would help at this stage.

If it were a requirement then I would have used it.

Minoxidil is not and should not be a requirement after a hair transplant. The grafts that are transplanted are from the safer zone and don't need minoxidil to grow.
Ask them what density they planted at?
Ask them, do they believe you have a blood flow issue in the transplanted area?

40cm2 density

We've been going back and forth this morning, they're saying and still suggesting I should jump on Minoxidil asap, they didn't say I have a blood flow issue;

"if the subcutaneous blood flow is not good enough many grafts won´t survive because they can´t get enough nutrition.
If the blood flow is deficient, it is not a matter of waiting or not waiting."

I see I’d already asked about density. 40 grafts per cm2 should not have any issues with blood supply.
Starting Minoxidil is a personal choice. It may or may not speed up growth. It may strengthen some miniaturised hair but that means you would have to stay on Minoxidil to keep those hairs.
All you can do is just wait. You still have plenty of time to see growth and thickening up.

+1, also curious. I am at a similar stage now - almost 5 months after. Very uneven growth, with areas that were most bald pre-HT still not showing any real results (I can't even see/feel hairs there), while areas that were better-off pre-HT are now noticeably thicker than before. It is quite nervewracking.

Curious to see how it turned out for you.

I wouldn’t be concerned with “no new growth” but appreciate the fact that so much of your transplanted hairs didn’t shed. The results you have at 5 months is decent and not concerning because it looks evenly spread. At the end of 6 months I believe you will have more noticeable grow. Of course the final results will be after 12 months. Best of luck!

He's probably fine.
It seems like he was very impatient and negative from the beginning. Now that the grow has kicked in he just left the forum :)
