A HT is defo a waiting game that can make you very anxious sometimes. Hopefully the result will be worth the wait

Anxiety can kick in while waiting.
One thing I did not mention is lighting and camera can make it look worse than it really is.
Just hang in there for now.

@Baldingman23 Thank you for demonstrating such great patience. It really can feel like a long time waiting for the hair to mature. As @Bigmac says things may look different at 15 months, in any case we are seeing monthly progress and you mentioned you can feel hairs still pushing through (the "stubbly" ones) so I am hoping you will not need a second pass.

Going back through your pictures there has certainly been a nice improvement. I think you hair characteristics (some finer/lighter hairs) perhaps don't always lend themselves to being captured well on a camera in certain lighting conditions.

Ultimately (once its all matured around 12 to 18 months) we are guided by how you feel about the result and it is important to mention that the aftercare is a critical part of the treatments we provide - so feel free to keep in contact with me as much or as little as you feel is required. This is the case for all patients that have had surgery with Dr Arshad.

@Bigmac thank you as always for the supportive, educational and empathetic platform.

Kind regards
Sommiya

Thank you Sommiya for the positive comments. This is one of the reasons I picked The Hair Dr for my hair transplant because good after care is critical in a HT. In my opinion the patient doesn’t want to just feel like another number. You have always been super responsive to my questions and offered excellent support and reassurance since day one. Like we all know a HT is just a being patience waiting game and having the clinic reassure me every step of the way just goes to show the care and consideration The Hair Dr and his team have got his patients

10 Months Update

My result seems have come on quite well in the past month. I can still feel some very small hairs in the crown area and the thinner patches (right temple and middle of the frontal third). Hopefully as you can see from the pictures these areas which I have been worried about seem to be filling in nicely. I took quite a few photos this morning in different lights and with damp and dry hair. I have also took some photos with some thicken mouse on it with it pushed backed as I’m thinking of growing it long. I find having such blonde hair the mouse makes it slightly darker giving the hair line a more thicker and stronger appearance. I still have quite a few months for more thickening to happen aswell, which is quite good.
My donor is shaved to a grade 2. My son who took the photos today said the bit that looks thin is a little grey hair patch. Being 40 is now starting to catch up on me.

Wow that looks like it's really come on even more! You can't even notice the areas were concerned about and as you say there is still a few months more of thickening to come as those stubbly hairs grow out.

You must be really pleased now and shows the importance of keeping the faith and waiting.

What type of thickening mouse do you use?

Thanks Hoping for hair!! It’s VO5 thickening mouse. Yep it does go to show that a HT is a waiting game and you have to just have patience.

I’m taking 1mg Fin, 10,000mcg biotin and 50mg saw palmetto daily. Been on this routine since my HT

Hey Baldingman, I`m so pleased it`s improved this much in the past month. It`s quite amazing how it can change in such a short timeframe.
The new Brad Pitt.
You have shown great patience with this. Waiting a full 12 months, although you`re not quite there, is recommended.
Your regular updates on here will help others who find themselves in a similar situation.
Thanks for the update.

Had a fresh hair cut today and I’ll be 11 months post HT this Saturday coming. I will take more photos on Saturday with both wet and dry hair but I thought I’d post my new hair cut here for now.

Looking like further improvements for you, . Big difference from the pre HT pic.
How is the density?
And when did you see the biggest improvements?

Yep it seems to be improving all the time. I would say the biggest improvement for me was seen around the month 9 mark. I would class myself as a slow grower and I can still feel tiny hairs both in my crown and temple area which obviously need to fully grow and mature along with the rest of my hair. My barber said to me today that my donor area looks totally untouched and it was shaved to a number 3 today. He been cutting my hair since I was 15 and I’m now 40 so he knows my hair better than anyone.
