Hey everyone,
I had a transplant in July 2020 and 3500 grafts were taken from my donor area. Unfortunately the donor was overharvested a bit, which isn’t noticeable when I grow my hair longer, but when it’s a number 1 or 2 it’s noticeable.
A few people asked me to get a skin fade haircut to see what the scars looks like bald, so here is my video about it:

I’m fully aware that the technician-led Turkish clinic I went to haven’t done a great job with the extraction. But I’m still happy with my full results overall.
Anyway, let me know how you think it looks.

I think the fade looks decent!

When you say over harvested, I was advised that I shouldn’t go any shorter than a grade 2 as, irrespective of clinic, you see the donor site.*
That said, you’re top looks so good, I’m sure you’re glad they took good strong grafts and wouldn’t have it any other way.

BM may be better placed to comment on the overharvest/length opinion.

*each individual would be different though!

Cheers man. I agree, I think everyone needs to realise that the donor area won’t look as it did before, no matter how good the surgery is. And as you say, it’s definitely worth it when you can improve the top by so much.

Maybe you are more prone to scarring. SMP or some beard donor transplanted into the zone to break it up.

Yeah I’ve been looking into both actually. Beard (neck) grafts would be a better option so then it’s for life. SMP has to be “touched up” every few years. Have you seen any results of donor repair from beard grafts?

I've had around 4200 follicles over the 7 years.
Will look into SMP or donor recharge with leg hair maybe, on the next procedure.

Your donor looks ok. Do you have a picture without the bright light and a little further away?
All I've got at the moment.
I've always had a grade 2 at the back and sides. This was my first time a skin fade. No one really noticed untill i told them and they really look close up.
I might need another hairtransplant soon maybe 2000, then hoping i have another 2000 backup after that with donor recharging and smp.

I'm due a haircut very soon so will send some over when I have haircut.

Yours looks fine to me. Nothing needed at all.
I'm ok with it at the moment, but will need further fue transplants in the future so I will need smp or donor recharging when I have another procedure. Unfortunately my hair transplanted hairs start to fall out after a few years. Ive been on a fair few meds to stop and reverse this nn the last few months so hope it works

Yep the more i age and look at the hair transplant industry i think hair transplants are a con and u need more and more surgery to look half decent and even that u are really not happy and learn 2 live with it

Sorry to see you had bad results, hopefully you can get repair work.

It took me a long time to decide to choose a surgeon in the end I had Dr Bisanga, he is more expensive but I'm really glad I chose him. I see so many poor results its a minefield out there. Its good that we have these forums to learn from.
Hope you can get this sorted

I've learned that some hair transplants don't last. And its a must that meds are used with hair transplants

Cheers pal i hope so 2
Yeah meds are deffo something u need to do when having a hair transplant
But when u are young u just think u wont get any more baldness but u do.
Also hair transplants always trigger off more hairloss cos of trauma on scalp

Went for a tapered fade this time and kept the back longer. Can’t really see the scars at all at this length.

Hey, I just wanted to say that I found your post about the skin fades haircut after a hair transplant really interesting. It takes courage to share something like that, and I appreciate you being open about your experience.
