I definitely hit a peak around March/April 2023, and now I’m seeing a ton of regression. I’m still on fin and minoxidil, but my scalp is starting to show through again and I’m seeing more hairs falling out in the shower.
I’m guessing my non-transplanted hair in the area is now starting to go again. It definitely is concerning that I spent a large chunk of my savings for 4-6 months of satisfaction and now it’s all coming back down again.
I have talked to Shapiro Medical and they said that it might just be a cycle, so hoping that is the case. Otherwise, it would take me several years of aggressive savings and frugal lifestyle to afford another transplant.

Do you have a picture with dry hair similar to your 6 month update? Your hair is damp in this picture which makes it look thinner.
Hopefully, it is just a hair cycle that you’re experiencing with the improvement returning soon.

Surprised that you peaked at 9-10 months post op mark rather than at 12-14 months, but it does happen. Still a nice improvement from pre-op to most recent pic posted on August 8th. I hope you're experiencing some normal shed and will regain those lost native hairs back soon. I know you're doing everything you can by taking Fin and Minox, so fingers crossed!!

2900 grafts in the areas transplanted was never going to get you a full head of hair on top, although as mac said, does lookk like you've experienced a shed. Did you keep up the fin consistently?

I know some of you have been asking about additional photos. Here is one I took today 2 hours after a shower, so completely dry. Hair is longer now so able to cover some of the thinning, but definitely regressing a lot from peak in my opinion.
Anyone have similar experience? I am really worried.

Interesting. I took a look back through your comments to see if u were taking oral Minoxidil, and seen that you are. I've been taking oral Minoxidil too for around 10 months and have definitely been losing my hair a lot quicker than previously. It might not be related, but I've got a feeling it is, as its the main change in my routine over this time period. I've decided to stop taking them a couple of days ago so will see if it makes any difference

What has the clinic suggested?

Hi! I did talk to the clinic about the situation and a few things were suggested including possibly trying dutasteride instead of finasteride, or using powdered fillers when going out that blend into the existing hair. Also taking vitamin D, so I’ve been taking 5k IU daily for the past 6 months or so to raise those levels in case that was an issue.
A laser hat was also recommended to be purchased, but I’m still a bit skeptical about the cost/benefit of this based on the studies I’ve been reading online.
A biopsy was suggested as a pre cautionary measure but I have not gotten to that yet.
The clinic will still follow up with me- but aside from the above I’m not sure what else can be done. Maybe another hair transplant? Just feel pretty defeated to have already gone through the process and expense a few years ago and starting to get back to square one so soon.

Sorry to see you've lost more ground. Having a biopsy is a good idea, but I’m thinking it is most likely continued hair loss due to Fin not Bri g effective.
Trying other meds such as oral minoxidil May reverse this. @MPBsucks1234 switched with great success.

I'm sorry to hear you're going through this too. Best to figure out what's going on with your scalp and see why you're continuing to lose hairs before moving forward.

As BM pointed out I had brilliant results with oral minoxidil. I was on fin and topical minox for well over 15 years, switched to oral minox and made huge changes in just a few months.

You had a great hairline already. But the hair loss was unusual. never seen something like this.
