Looks great so far, I will certainly consider Dr Lupanzula for my 2nd surgery. I have a consultation with him in October at my 12 month post op point.

Reading your post has certainly added Dr Lupanzula to my shortlist of potential surgeons. Thanks for documenting everything.

Month 4: Progress but slow?..... Also I have started using abit of nanogen as it covers up well. What does everything think about hair fibres after your HT?

Any updates Ahmeda87?
Interested to see how your progress is going as I guess your at around month 5 now?
I've just had my procedure with Dr Lupanzula myself and am heading home today.
I will create my own thread once I am home but I must say my experience at the clinic was none other than superb.
I'm really hoping for a good result!
It still hasn't sunken in that I have actually taken the plunge!

Hey, correct. Just past 5 months. I will try to add some pics soon.

So far it has improved a lot but still "gappy" and the hairline is still "gappy"

Dr Lupanzula and his team are certainly great. I look forward to seeing your post soon and I will have images up in the next two weeks.

5.5 Months - Improved a lot but worried about density. You can see my Parting is certainly better than before the HT. Will Density improve?

Thanks for the update Ahmeda87.
There is a significant aesthetic improvement since your last post and this will continue to improve over the coming months with your full result coming in at 12-15 months.

I'm sure you are really pleased so far and I look forward to seeing your updates over the coming months.

That's simply impossible to say at this stage as you haven't seen your full result. They are misinformed so please do not let them cause you unnecessary worry.

7.5 months - Pro - I no longer need to wear nanogen/hair fibres - that is ONLY if I style my hair flat and forward as you can see in the picture.

Con - my hairline at the front is still gappy so if I style my hair up at the front then I need nanogen/hair fibres

Please Note** I do not part my hair, only for demonstration purposes. The 90's are over. haha:ROFLMAO:

What do you think so far?

Hi,

i think that your result looks nice so far! Definetly a big improvement comparing pre-op and 5,5 month status. Maybe you can upload a picture of your hairline?

Greets!

Month 9 + 8 days :

Positive. I can wear my hear without nanogon (hair fibres) when styles forward ONLY. Top and mid is filled in a lot but my hair is quite long. I will get a cut soon and see if I can still wear my hair without nanogon when styles forward.
Negative. Hairline is very spare. Within Nanogon and Vo5 putty I can JUST ABOUT style the front of my hair up.... but close up you can see gaps still.

Please Note : I do not part my hair, its just for demonstration so you can see the difference compared to the start.

Dr Lupanzula said he could fix this but I need to wait until month 12. Maybe 500-700 grafts?

just to add to the above, overall I am happy! I just want the front and hairline to hopefully fill or get touched up so I can style my hair up

I think that if someone else tells you that you "need another hair transplant" they're either trolling you or are working for a competitor ( or just a fanboy of one). The part down the middle is a good gauge of the progress but it is also a good way to show how transplants do not restore native density. You only had 2663 grafts and they were placed into the entire anterior mid-scalp and frontal third including the hairline. I've seen cases where more than this was placed into the hairline alone so considering where you started, and the relatively small number of grafts you received, you have an fantastic result.

And for that matter, I don't think your hairline should be "fixed" with more grafts as there is nothing broken in the first place. It is the logical outcome for the procedure which you have had performed. In my opinion, you should stop while you're ahead and enjoy the outcome and result you've achieved. It has completely changed your appearance and you have a hairline that most would be happy with. Your donor wasn't the strongest to begin with so save what you have left for further work should you ever need it. Enjoy your hair and move on.

Hey Joe,

To be clear firstly.

* I am overall happy with my results
* The hairline looks more spare in real life than in the picture but I am ok with that because I am sure it will fill in more.
* After consulting with Dr Lupanzula, he was the one that said MAYBE a 300 graft touch up. I will see him in April for my 12 month review.
* Regarding my donor, it is actually quite strong as per what the Dr said. Around 9000 grafts capacity.
* I am not trying to get my density as a 16 year old. I know HT's are about the art of the illusion and I think Dr Lupanzula did a great job to cover a big area with that little number of grafts.
*My priority is make my donor capacity last out as much as possible and not going down the rabbit hole of multiple producers in a short space of time.

My Final objective : Style my hair up even if it requires the assistance of hair fibres. Right now, with hair fibres, it looks very gappy but I still got 3 more months to go.

Once again, overall happy. A huge area covered with only 2663 grafts.

I'm glad to know about your overall feelings. I felt that perhaps your case should be put into a realistic light, not only for you but anyone reading your story. Time is your friend now, as you no longer have to deal with being bald anywhere on your scalp, which to me, is a big win for you.
