Any guys out there who have had 7.5k+ FUE

Hi guys

I had 2 successful FUE surgeries 10 years ago. And am back on the forums after a long time. I can’t go to the same clinic for reasons I can’t really say here as that was my plan.

I didn’t take meds at the time and I’m now 37 so most if not all the hair up top is transplanted hair. I am open to restarting meds

I didn’t have loads up there when I started tbh, now I’m looking to have a third and no doubt final procedure for 1.5k-2k. My loss is stable so very clear where my safe zone now is versus when I was 27 when rightly so we’re very careful as couldn’t predict what would happen sides and back.

I’m also considering smp after this opp for the donor and to add optical density. Tho won’t really ever shave my donor as wear it longer

Not all clinics will want to do this as it’s obviously harder, relies on right harvesting etc. and some have much more experience of it.
Anyone out there who has add 7.5k plus FUE or would reccomend specific surgeons skilled at this? I have spoke to dr ball team he openly says he doesn’t have experience of that level of work so said no (fair play) de arshad said yea donor looks good but video call only. I have a face to face with dr bisanger in April booked which is costly to come from uk for half an hour but obviously he’s top surgeon so hoping he will do it, but need some others for comparison.
Waiting on contact from feriduni and Mwamba and no idea of their wait times tbh.
Thanks everyone!

I`ve not had that number of FUE grafts extracted but have had multiple strip and FUE over the years. Looking at your pictures the original clinic did a good job with the placement pattern. You`ve lost more native hair but the transplanted hair that's left looks natural.
Your donor looks ok in the pictures but with having a large number removed previously I`d say it needs an in-person inspection to determine what can be safely extracted and to see where they will be best utilised.
Hopefully, the other clinics get back to you soon. If they do, you could possibly travel to Belgium and have 3 in-person consults on the same day.
While your hair loss seems to be stable we can still lose hair without noticing until enough has been lost creating a visual difference. If I were in your position, I would get back on the meds. You may very well have miniaturisation in the donor area. This will be checked at your consult.

Should at be too long for your consult date. Were you able to arrange others?

I am actually on the Eurostar on way back from Bhr clinic there and back in a day! Went well so am pleased. I have a few options on the table now and a couple more consultations booked but I may cancel one of them. The in person detail at Bhr was

Once I’ve had my other couple of consultations I’ll post back here to get some feedback: aiming to make my decision end of April just glad my trip to Belgium wasnt wasted. Bhr filled me with confidence tbh even tho dr b had to pass the consultation to dr kostis as he had a family emergency (which he told me about in advance of my trip but as I was all set to go I kept the appointment and after all dr b I am sure will look at all the measurements and photography from it).

Would you be choosing Bisanga or Kostis to lead the surgery? I think it is cheaper having Kostis do it.

Well I’m waiting on the full details to be sent which will give me the full quote, in the room 2.5k scalp and 500 test from the beard (I have allot of beard if I chose another procedure but dr suggested not going mad with beard to begin with to make sure it looks natural etc and would be blended with scalp hair. I was told shared surgery with dr Kostis would be 3.5 a graft beard is 6. I liked dr kostis he seemed very thorough and knowledgeable in the consultation. Initially I was only considering dr b but I am now open to dr kostis as well tbh allot of the results recently from Bhr would have been this new model of them both it seems. I assume Ian my patient rep will send me official quote.
I have another consultation with dr Farjo coming up and an offer (without in person consultation) from dr Lupanzula almost exact same number just no beard mentioned.

Is it more difficult extracting the beard grafts with it being a higher price?

Well actually they quoted 4 in my official quote so slightly more not sure why I guess maybe takes more time and is a bit more awkward to do. They seem to have plenty experience of using beard tho. I’ll post full write up of my recco soon as am still in consultation with them over a few questions re the proposal I received.

looks like I am very much down to picking from dr lupanzula or bisanga and kostis combo. Both looking like excellent options so a tough choice:

Thanks mate appreciate the support
Just to let you know I have made my decision and booked a procedure for July with Bhr clinic agreeing for the shared surgery option with dr kostis and dr b.

Having the in person consultation I think swung it in the end and I encourage anyone to make the effort to do this so both you and the surgery have the clearest picture. I went from uk to Belgium there and back in a day! Was a long day but we’ll worth it.

there were no negatives to me not choosing dr lupanzula at all in fact I was very torn in the decision. Both Ian from Bhr and Scott from medikemos were superb providing excellent detail and support with no sales push at all.

Both clinics (and dr arshad) reccomended almost identical graft counts and responses to my questions which is also a positive.

obviously I know clinics that dont charge for consultation spend their time to help you so I want to give this positive feedback to the clinics I did not choose who were all excellent, but you have to make a decision in the end.

but I fully reccomend dr lupanzula and the hair dr from a pre opp consultation perspective (obviously I can’t recommend for surgery as I haven’t hd treatment but I’m sure others can).

I will be aiming for 2.5k scalp and 500 beard to address the crown (dr kostis andbteams area with a potential second pass to add density to my previous transplant in frontal third if I have the grafts (which in consultation Bhr suggest I do which is great news). I have very fine hair apparently and mainly 1s and 2 grafts in my donor assessed at 70/70/80

I will start a new thread when I have my transplant and fully document it for the forum.

pic of my crown now for reference

Thanks for the update on how all the consults went and your final decision to go with BHR. I’m sure you’ll be happy with the outcomes once you hit the 12 months post surgery. I hope the clinic can extract mainly 2 haired grafts to create more density.
I’ll look forward to following your progress.
All the best.
Bm.
