Went to two different clinics. One told me they would get me started on dudasteride (which is a better version of finasteride?), do platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections, give minoxidil, and would recommend against trying to have a child while on finasteride/dudasteride because there's a small chance that if it's a boy, the male genitalia can become genetically deformed. PRP every 2 months for 3 sessions to start with, then probably once every 4-6 months for a couple of years, then maybe once a year.
Went to another clinic and got a completely different advice: there hasn't been much study on dudasteride so we would stick with finasteride, PRP doesn't work because the blood already circulates there so they would do another type of injection called mesotherapy (an injection of vitamins, some finasteride, etc.). Trying to conceive a child is fine as it's never been proven that this small amoutn of finasteride is harmful to a fetus. Minoxidil of course. And the mesotherapy sessions would be once a month for a year, then maybe gradually less thereafter.
Was really disappointed, because they're both doctors and apparently two different doctors can give two different advice.
Anyone else knows what to do in this situation? Any advice?
My background: It started around when I was 20, but very slowly. At around 25 years old, I started taking finasteride. My hair is very thin but I don't have a bald patch (the crown is the worst part).
Thanks
