Your hairline is beginning to take shape. Crowns usually take a little longer. Everyone’s growth rates are different with a small percentage experiencing new growth right up to 12 months.

4.5 month update and first proper haircut.
Starting to thicken up, now hairs coming through so appear to be on track for 4.5 months?!

The donor is definitely thinner than pre-surgery, which is to be expected - could this be shock loss potentially? Or is it too late in the process for that?

Thanks

Looks like it's coming along nicely - must be good to see the progress!
Your donor dosent look that noticeable on the pic - might be that you notice it more as your are active looking for it?

Possibly, it is definitely thinner than before, maybe the pics don’t show it so well.

but yes, it’s good to see progress. Exciting times.
Appreciate that everyone is different but
when do people usually see the biggest changes / the most new growth?

Looking good my2021story. Im 10 months next Saturday and im still feeling new hairs coming through. I found my hair to make the biggest change around 7-8 months post surgery.

Looks on track with the growth which is different for everyone. At 6 - 8 months I`d say most people see good amounts of growth.

Hi, interesting to read your story thanks for sharing. Leeds is a bit far for me but happy to go the distance if its worth it. You say each part took a few hours, how long was the day in total? How long did it take Dr A to punch the grafts?

Thanks.
It’s so hard not to worry at this stage but am trusting the process.

My donor area is a little sore on occasion but other than that no pain or discomfort really.

Aftercare as in meds?
Fin, biotin and multivitamin.

I have Minoxidil too but not sure when I should start to use that- will take advice from the Dr on that I think.
Hi, just reading this thread here and wondered if you have any updates on how those meds are working out? I know finasteride meant to be good, and I have read that biotin is good for hair but can't find any real personal stories on it. Can I ask if you think it's made a difference?

Whole day was around 12 hours.
Can’t remember how long it took for the punches, a few hours I guess.

In relation to the meds, I think it would be good for you to maybe do a bit more research. There are lots of stories online some good, some bad. The bottom line is everyone is different s

6 month update.
Progress is happening- I’ve spoken with the Dr and they advise that most growth usually happens from 6 months onwards so am hoping it now gets really exciting!
(Frustrating when you see others with almost full results at 6 months, but I get that everyone is different)
Crown is starting to fill in but also appreciative of the fact this takes much longer.

I would welcome honest feedback from others as to how it’s progressing- positive or negative.

I've attached pics with and without product (just hair gel- no fibres or concealer) to give a full picture as to where I currently am.

It may be slow but when you look back at your before pics, you can definitely see a big difference already so it's just about being patient.

I would say stop using hair gel and change it to something like Sea salt spray instead.

Hair gel will give it a wet look and make it look thinner then it actually is. Sea salt spray is great is it gives your hair some texture/volume

I know how you feel seeing people with amazing results really early on can be disheartening, however looking back to your pre pics, you can definitely see progress. Just need to keep the faith as the Dr says.

Looks just like mine did at 6 months hang on in there fella.

Like Alex said don’t use gel. I use VO5 volume boost moose and then VO5 thickening paste. These are quite light products and don’t weigh your hair down or give it that wet look which will always make it look thinner.

Just ordered both the volume moose and thickening paste as per your recommendation! What's your routine?

I can see improvements with the hairline looking fuller and your crown now has coverage which will get better once the hairs are fully mature.

Seems to be a lot of Dr Ashad late growers currently waiting for growth to kick off on this forum just now.

Looking really good - getting fuller! If you’re anything like me you feel a bit disappointed by photos as looks a lot thinner than it does to the naked eye.
