I’m far from the expert but I’ve read about a million threads in the last 5 months and it’s clear that growth isn’t linear and varies a lot between individuals, even with the same doctor. Seems like 12 months is a good stage to judge the final outcome with some experiencing improvements up to 18 months. Still plenty of time for new growth, though I can only imagine the impatience wanting to see the final result ASAP. I’d be 10x worse. You still managing the oral Minoxidil OK? Can’t recall if you were on Finasteride also?
Thanks. Yes oral minoxidil fine and also on Finasteride.

Looking good at 5 months. Each patient can and do grow at different stages. You may not see much growth in the next month but then you may have a burst of growth at 7 months. Some patients have near to zero growth at 6 months, then it kicks in. Patience is the key.
Thanks for the update.

So almost at the 6 month stage. Looks like I have hair although as expected density is not there but I have reasonable coverage for graft numbers and clearly a lot better than when I started my journey 18 months ago. Everyone comments that I look younger but no one mentions my hair let alone that I have had a transplant.

I think that looks excellent. Like you say, coverage is as expected, but it looks totally natural, I doubt many would realise it was a transplant. More importantly than being super dense, the density looks uniform and you have a hairline, so a really good outcome for you. Congratulations!

Looks to be sprouting more and more! :)

6 months is still very early, more hair will sprout and it will also mature and get thicker which will give you much more coverage in the coming months.

At 6 months the illusion it creates is good. People saying you look younger is testament to this. It looks natural and I’d expect it to improve further over the next 6 months.

Thanks for the update.

So just past the 7 month stage. People comment that it looks thicker. Not cut the top since surgery …just cut the back and sides myself.

These two photos is quite good to show the difference.

Are you planning to do the crown aswell?

You might be able to lower your hairline some if you would like later on but its wise to see how much you can fill the crown first.

It is quite a change so far. The pictures loui compared show this.
At 7 months you`re just past the half way point, therefor, more growth should be on its way.

I think I may go for a second surgery as this one was very straightforward. Not sure I will lower the hairline as it is age appropriate…..but you never know!

I definitely wouldn’t change the hairline, I think it looks great. Any spare grafts I‘d use on the crown, or to add some density elsewhere. Pretty sure you’re gonna look great ‘as is’ though. Looking fab!

This is quite some transformation to be fair, especially given the number of grafts used. You look amazing and more youthful.

Wait before you get hair greed like me :D

On a serious note, I agree its a really good approach by Dr Farjo to make a age appropiate hairline and also creating a good chance to fill out the crown fully when placing the hairline like this if you ever decide on doing the crown.

You will soon get to enjoy a even fuller hairline at 12 months when all the hair have sprouted and matured, the maturation really makes a big difference in the texture and fullness :)

I am at 8.5 months. To me there is no difference apart from it’s a lot longer. It’s probably thickening but I don’t notice it. Due my doctor check up next month.

It looks as though you`ve had some maturing, possibly more growth towards the crown. It could be the length too as you say but I`m thinking it`s more improvement. For the number of grafts used, the transformation from looking bald to having hair is good.

So 10 months in and had check up yesterday. All has gone to plan. we talked about a second surgery to fill in the crown and various options FUE/FUT . Depending on method I choose could harvest between 1800-2500 grafts. I will probably go for the conservative 1800 grafts as lower risk and leaves the door open for a third surgery …always good to have an option in the back pocket. I plan to enjoy my new hair for the next year and consider the second surgery in 12 months.

Looking good from where you started. I had my op with back in July 21 but not yet managed to go back for a checkup. Sounds like a good plan, if your happy with 1,800 you may not need a third op but good to have options.

You initially had a lot of loss. I think this first surgery has made a nice difference to your appearance. Enjoying your new look before deciding on a second surgery sounds good to me.
Enjoy your hair.
