Fully shaven or not? Hat or no hat?

Hi everyone,
I’m doing my HT with Feriduni early in 2023.
I’m not sure whether to go fully shaven or try not to. My problem is mostly a receding hairline.
What are your recommendations?
Also, after a week or so, can I wear a baseball hat when I’m out (say with clients or friends)?
How long does it usually show you have done a transplant?
Thanks for the help… I haven’t done enough research on these topics and your help will be really appreciated.

Can you add a picture of your hairline together with graft estimate? I think over 2000 clinics want you to shave but if it is only hairline work you could shave the donor with the hair on top long.

Surgery size will usually dictate if you should shave down. Seeing a picture of the area to be transplanted and knowing the number of grafts will help us answer your question regarding shaving or not. You can wear a loose fitting baseball cap after a week. Your grafts are securely in place by then. Everyone heals differently. Redness can linger for months, in others, it can vanish fairly quickly. Your donor should look good 10 - 14 days post op on average. Hopefully, you don’t get shock loss.

Ask your doctor is best. Most clinics have an open policy and it´s not just that shaving is a must. But if you don´t bring it up before there is a chance they will shave regardless. It´s simply more efficient for the doctor and techs. Reasons to shave though, blending into the existing hair, placing parallel with any surrounding hair, and maybe trying to control shock loss. Easier to follow the lay of the hair, including the exit angle from the scalp. More efficient and easier to spot missed sites as well as keep the area clean. All that said, hairline work, unless it´s diffuse thinning, normally means creating a new line into bare skin and going back to blend into the current hairline. This can normally be achieved without the need for shaving if it´s an issue. If your hair is quite long, you may wish to cut it a little shorter, simply from an aesthetic point. When you do remove your cap and the sides are growing back but still shaved the look may be better with a slightly shorter hairstyle.
