Since probably beginning of 2025(?) I noticed some changes with my hair. Looked duller and no linger as bright and fluffy when washing it like it used to be. But come August after s haircut, I really noticed a difference. I also noticed more short hair shedding and how many of my hair strands seemed thinner. I don’t know what’s causing the thinning and miniaturization, but I am thinking it might be product buildup from new hair products I started using a year ir two ago. My scalp is covered with salty like grains and when I rub ny scalp they dislodge. Sometimes I have to pick them out. I also started oiling my hair in August and these grains come up when I do. The only time my hair seems to look normal and like it used to is when I oil my hair or exfoliate it. My mom has suggested the hair change and thinning may also be hormones from adulthood (I’m 18) or a change after a surgery I had two years ago since there seems to have been a small shift in my hair after that in older photos. But I thibk I also started using some new products shortly after that surgery too that I think might be causing product buildup.
I also have what I think is regrowth pm the left side, but I’m unsure if it is. The circled area has hair, and as you can see there are a few thinner dark hairs that kind stick up. But that whole area has hair so there are hairs there that can’t be seen and seem like vellus hair. They also don’t stand up. So, I’m unsure if it’s regrowth?
