Hair growing extremely slow in crown after 1950 Fue grafts

I had 1950 Fue grafts end of August 2015. 1000 were placed along my hair line, the remainder in the crown. It's nearing 11 months since I had surgery.
The grafts that were placed along my hair line grew in by month 8, however my crown is lagging way behind. I'm lucky if 50% have grown. Is it normal for grafts placed in the crown to grow so slow?
I've been using Rogaine to speed up the growth, but it's not working. Will these grafts eventually come through? I contacted the doctor who advised I wait at least 15 months before being evaluated by him. Does this sound reasonable?
One last thing, I've been wearing a loose fitting hat a lot waiting for my hair to grow, could this cause any growth problems?
Best regards Megatron.

Crowns are notorious for growing slow. If you've had 50% to date I would think the rest will follow. Take your doctors advice, wait it out for 12-15 months for a final assessment.

I figure I'll have to wait it out then. I was thinking of using some Toppik to hide the area until it grows in. Do you think this is a good idea?

Definately wait it out as the doctor has suggested, then if you still think you have not got the growth, contact your doctor.
Maybe the Rogaie is causing a shed, this will make the growth appear less or maybe you have lost a little more natural hair.
Try not to worry about it too much, you got good growth in the front, so your crown should catch up. Also if you use Toppik, wash it out at night and apply again the following day. A loose fitting hat is fine.
All the best.

Thanks for the info. I'll definately wash my hair every night after using Toppik, some days I'll be able to wear a hat, no need for Toppik on those days.
