Hair transplant fixed - but does it make sense?

Hello everyone,

I am currently a bit worried and not sure how I should proceed.
I have my appointment fixed with Dr. Bicer for next month, but as I still have a severe hairfall (atleast it feels like it) and also my donor-area and side-areas feel like they are really thin and weak and also fall out if I try to pull a bit harder on them or rub with my fingers there - so I am not sure how to proceed.

I want to get my hair a bit thickened and stop the hair-fall for the current hair which I have remaining, but I was thinking to do that once I got my hair-transplantation, because of the current lockdown and homeoffice situation.

I am supposed to get 3.5k Grafts for front/mid and if something more is takeable from the donor area, then also a bit for crown spread up.
Definetely a 2nd hair-tp in 3-4 years. was suggested by the doc. as my hair-fall is ongoing.


Attached you can find some pictures- like I mentioned very thin hair.. so does it makes sense if I lose in a year more hair than I get with the transplant and the end-result might not be satisfactory?

If you're not on any hair loss prevention regimen there's a chance you will continue losing hair. If this happens, you may end up with only transplanted hair on top.
If you go ahead, the doctor will assess your donor to see if you are suitable before proceeding with surgery. The doctor should plan for future loss, designing and placing the grafts accordingly.

But is it fine I go first for the hair-transplantation and afterwards for the hair treatment to keep the remaining hair? Because that was my plan to be honest

It`s up to you what you think is best for you. Most clinics prefer you to be on meds before surgery but lots of patients do start them after a hair transplant.

Hi mate looking at your pics I reckon u would suit a shaved look appearance
Maybe have fue scatterd on ur crown
And also have fue to create a nice soft mature hairline
I think and this is just my opinion I think if u dont go on meds and have a transplant,and if u have ur hair longer styles I think it will look thin and stringy looking
If u just have a shaved appearance the thinness u have will look less thin
And give u a better natural appearance

Hello guys,

it was decided that I cancel the hair-tp for now, as I also talked to Dr. Bicer and she suggested my active hair loss to stop for now before we do anything there..
So I will probably go for some Minoxidil treatment for few months to see how it goes.. also I've been use some coconut oil to prevent hair loss.. it helped a bit for now..

@Philw: Thanks for your reply.. I used to have a shaved look but I didn't like it.. But maybe now as my hair is thinner it might look better.. I'll try it as I anyways have to try some treatments..

Without wanting to sound harsh Im not sure Minoxidil alone will be enough to stabilise your loss dude with your loss pattern....I'd also try Finasteride to build a real strong foundation for a transplant if I were in your shoes....however I understand not everyone can or wants to take Finasteride...just my opinion buddy.
