Great update! Really like how the the hair line looks like a proper hairline now, it also looks super natural too.

Were you recommended to take both Fin and Saw Palmetto together?
Thanks Alex, I’m super happy with how my hair is looking now. The clinic did mention taking both Biotin and Saw Palmetto as well as fin. I’ve only just added the saw palmetto about 1 month ago.

Good to hear you`re feeling new growth coming through in the thinner areas. By the time they grow and go through a cycle it’ll be round about the 12 month mark. Your donor area looks good, no sign of any hair missing.

Thanks Bigmac. My wife gave me a hair cut today so thought I would take some pics and add them here as well. I’m a very happy man with how my HT is progressing. Can’t wait to get to the 12-16 month mark and see the final result. My life has been changed with this procedure and this forum has been a great help both getting me to the point of having a HT as well as help with questions and worries that I had at times.

It's good to hear you're happy with how it's looking now. It's been a bit slow but you're getting there.
I'm pleased the forum has helped you and you've found the support useful during your journey.

Your wife has done a good job with the hair cut, your hairline is looking good. You have a whole new look especially when compared to your pre op picture I'm kindly attaching below which is a distant memory now.

Yep Bigmac it sure is now starting to take shape. It just goes to show that not all HT’s grow at the same rate and patience is key!! That’s crazy to think my hair looked like that before, what a difference.

Yes, patience is a must. It can be frustrating when you see others with great growth early on but usually we all get to the same finishing line.
Big difference in your hairline. It gives a more youthful look.

4 awesome repairs with SMG
Patience can be a killer....tell you what's worse, is when you have multiple surgeries and some grow quicker than others as you can feel down hearted thinking it's not as good as subsequent ones... but I can tell you they come good in the end it's just everyone and every surgery growth speed differs for some reason.....looking good by the way :)

Thanks Alex!! It’s coming on nicely now. I can feel some new hairs that have just popped through on the crown and some of the thinner areas. It really does go to show that patience is key to a HT

Hey @Baldingman23, been following this thread all the way through - I'm about 2 weeks behind you I think. Also Dr Arshad. I had a quick question, on your transplanted areas do you still feel short, stubbly hairs when you run your fingers through it? I do and I'm wondering if there's still some growth to come in some areas - like you've said, I still feel thin in the transplanted areas

Hi Beagle. About 2 weeks ago my crown still felt kind of thin and bald, but over the past couple of weeks I started to feel lots of little hairs coming through, infact it feels like stubble there and is quite reassuring. My right temple still feels a little thin and I still have a thinner area in the middle on my frontal third but I’m sure I can feel some spikey new hairs there. The clinic messaged me today to ask how the Ht was coming on. I told them about my worries and they have asked me to take some photos and a video for Dr Arshad to review. I did find a good video on YouTube of a bloke who was 9 months post HT and his transplanted area was very see through and thin, but by month 16 it was another story totally full and mature. It just goes to show that patience is key I think. Will be nice for Dr Arshad to just put my mind at ease though when I send him the videos and photos for his professional opinion.

Yeah being patient is the hardest part for sure... sounds like we're in similar places. Perhaps Dr Arshad will reach out to me in the coming days too. Cheers for the response!

9 months post HT today and here are some
Photos I took today. Looking at the hairs closely they are still vary wirey, thin and being blond obviously doesn’t help, but they are there, so once they start maturing and thickening I will get even more improvement. I spoke with Sommiya at the clinic today as I always send them my photo updates and they called me to reassure me everything was on track and Ive got plenty of maturing to come. I think my crown has made a big improvement since month 8 and I can feel lots of stubble of new hairs in the crown area. My frontal 3rd still has a gap in it but again I can feel new hairs/stubble there. A hair transplant is defo a waiting game and patience is key

Your crown has definitely come on a lot, looking back at the earlier pics!

It's good you can feel the hairs still coming through and like you say, just need to keep holding in there while the hairs do their thing and thicken up some more. Must be frustrating waiting but will be worth it I am sure!

Is the bit you say there is a gap where grafts were placed or is it an area that could have been impacted by shock loss of existing hair?

Yep the crown has come on well in this last month I think. It was very thin before and I was worried lol but again patience is key

Graphs were placed there, I think they have just taken some time to pop through. I can feel the stubble there now.

Your hair has definitely improved. The next 3 plus months should see more late growth/maturing with you feeling new stubbles popping through and the thinner wiry hairs that you have.
The hairline looks a bit thin on the latest pictures you posted. If it doesn't improve enough you may need a top up to add density. Hopefully, it doesn't come to that.
Top ups are done on a small percentage of patients. This happens with every clinic.
All the best.

How many graphs would I need in a top up do you think Bigmac ?? I hope it doesn’t come to that as I don’t want to have to shave my head again

it’s good to know that I could still get new hairs popping through in the next 3 months

I don't think it will come to that but sometimes it does happen. If it stayed as is, you may need around another 1000 grafts but this would be decided by the doctor.
You have good donor so a top up would not be a problem but you may have to shave.
If you wait to say 15 months post op the result could end up being great.
