Apologies.. I was in the middle of uploading. You can see all images now. The pic you referred to was the after surgery though, not half way through c;;9

Surgeons usually say they need around 40-50 grafts per square cm to provide a natural look. I think in some parts o your head they placed less than ten per cm2. I may be wrong on that though.

Will you be using beard/body hair as donor or only scalp?

Body hair will be a good option for you if you need to add some density, thanks for sharing your story.

Still awaiting full growth but it has healed vey well I think.

Hard to tell from the picture due to the lighting but looks like some new growth compared to your pre op, how many grafts did you have with this surgery.

Unfortunately, pilus2013 €™s donor area couldn €™t provide the desired number of grafts, due to previous failed strip surgery and high norwood patern combined with his low donor capacity. However, we decided to proceed with his HT, having in mind that the patient had understood these limitations. In a few months we can evaluate what is left from his donor area and we can also combine with MPG (SMP). We are here to help him as much as we can.

Good to hear you are standing by your patient, i agree with BM it's very difficult to see properly with the lighting differences.

Looks like you have had some growth from the grafts, and there is still time for more.

I hate to say it but looking at the placement pictures and the current growth, I don't know how you're really going to get any meaningful coverage. I don't know why they did a round hairline at the front, and if they're going to do SMP, why did they transplant any hair in the first place? The thickening effect probably won't do much, and you'll have to shave the transplanted hair for the shaved effect.

If you end up finding the density unsatisfactory, I think you should see a doctor that does body hair transplantation before you do SMP.

Dear Ziggs,

The hairline is nor circular but slightly zig-zag (if you see the photo more closely). The issue with pilus2013, as I mentioned in my last post, is that his donor area cannot provide the desirable number of grafts. Our suggestion is to wait for the final result (he is in his second month of his HT now) and reevaluate his options (donor area capacity, SMP, beard and body grafts, etc). Clearly, body and beard hairs would be a solution, (there is a member on this forum who has done a HT by chest and beard at DHI and presents very good results). What I am trying to say is that we are here for pilus2013 and we have explained to him all the parameters and difficulties of his case.

I think you are progressing as I would expect, 5 months is very early to be judging anything you seem to have slightly more hair than pre op but as others mentioned it's hard to tell with the lighting difference.

Please keep the updates coming. I think SMP into the scars would be a great idea I have just had some of mine done and it is very effective.
