It’ll look good grown out. Crowns can take a bit longer. It’s good you can feel the new growth still emerging.

You got some early growth and from now on usually the fun begins. :)

Offtopic:
Would be nice to see cases from @Bobbins and @Edsarn too!

Couple of shots with long and shorter cuts.
Worked out pretty well, or at least I think it did.

Cheers BM!

Yeah I am going to grow it out now, was just keeping it short during the growth stages. It feels great having a hairline again!

My crown is still not fully there, there has been growth, but I can feel spikey hairs coming through. Apparently the crown takes longer doesn’t it?
Excellent result. Is he based near the airport?

Dr M is about 45 mins from the airport. He provides a car there and back though, so it's no hassle. My procedure included a comfortable hotel about 10 mins from his office, with cars both ways each day.

This looks great now. What a hairline

Just goes to show what a good surgeon can do for people.

This thread would be very beneficially to anyone doing research. Thanks for posting and keeping it up to date.

This should keep you with a good head of hair for plenty of years

2 year update. Apologies for the delay with the update, life just got a bit busy.

To recap for a quick breakdown, I’ve had 2 surgeries. The first being at the Hair Dr in Leeds with Dr Arshad in 2020, and a 2nd surgery with Dr Michalis in Cyprus in 2023. I wasn’t happy with the results of the surgery with Dr Arshad. I was not seeing any progress for some time. The more I think about it, I only started to see a difference when starting Minoxidil combined with PRP (I was already on finasteride), and as soon as I came off minoxidil, the progress reversed. For this reason, I feel convinced that the progress at this time I had was mostly due to miniaturised hairs regrowing from the new medication. I sought other consultations with highly recommended surgeons who informed me the result was poor.

I then explored other options and found Dr Michalis in Cyprus and visited to have a consultation in person. I found him very honest and we aimed to be very conservative due to my donor being (what I have been informed), over harvested. We did some of the crown and also the hairline and I’m very happy with the results. There’s very slight sparseness in the crown and we’ve discussed a possible retouch. I’m planning on flying out to see him so he can do a proper assessment and see what he thinks is best. However, I definitely 100% recommend him. For the cost and quality, you’re not going to be disappointed. I’ve attached some pictures below.

Hi Kelvino, it is good to hear from you. Your hairline looks great. The short hair cut suits you as well. The crown is a little thin but not that noticeable. I do understand though if you want to address it.
Going back to see the doctor can be a mini holiday. It will be nice for you to find out how many donor grafts he thinks you have left.
As for the meds. Are you only on Finasteride now? Oral minoxidil is an option to improve the crown.

Hairline is good mate. Looks strong and well framed

I don’t think the crown is bad. I understand it might not be as thick as you would like but it looks to have fair coverage and very natural for going into older age but like Big Mac said if you have spare grafts and want it thicker go for it
