Just an update as I am 6 months post surgery.

From the beginning (a reminder for contrasting purposes!): - See the pattern and new hairline

Right after the procedure a total of 6,425 hairs were implanted via the FUE method - (God knows how they count them ha)!

Starting from 2 months post surgery (below) - I look like I did before surgery! ;;::::/

3 months post surgery (below)- the start of new hair growth

4 months post surgery below)

5 months post surgery - looks like becoming a fuller head of hair almost:

6 months post surgery - below). - Middle looks thinner or is it perhaps because I bombed it?

Look at the middle section notice it does look thinner is this natural hair loss continuing or transplanted hair shedding!? Anyone? I have not cut any hair on the implanted zone neither have I used minoxidil or taken propecia. I have just let it grow naturally but as from the 3rd month I started using Alpecin shampoo. I wash my hair 3 times a week with this. How often do you guys (who have had a hair transplant) wash your hair post surgery? Or I suppose it doesn't matter? The reason I ask is because when you wash your hair - more hair could shed ....right?

Also I notice that there are still some stalled transplanted hairs that have yet to shed- they Feel spiky, some shed when I wash my hair. Is it ok to pluck the stalled ones with tweezers? - is this natural 6 months post surgery? [):h::

Now from the front:

Very happy with the results so far, especially the frontal zone (left and right front) especially if you compare this with the above photo before procedure, also it's actually followed the pattern that was marked - so even better!

You can see that the front is getting thicker but I have a slight concern that the middle and back (crown) still looks thin and the middle section looks thinner at 6 months than it was at the 5th month. - Unless it's the way I comb my hair or the natural hair loss continuing or perhaps stalled hairs still falling out!?

Now from the top looking down at the crown:

This is a few days after surgery first of all.

3 months post surgery

6 months post surgery: - A little sign of some growth, not much).

Bare in mind that I could still be losing my existing hair!

But so far the front is looking fantastic and it's the front that matters more to me, to which I am much happier. It's cool being able to style your hair like you did when you did in your teen's but some of the hair still feel wiry and stiff making it difficult to comb. Hope they will mature and look forward to some more growing. :::C ¬b`

Now semi -profiles from left and right: 3 months & 6 months

So all in all very happy so far! - I just wish that middle didn't thin so quickly and hope the implanted hairs in the crown will grow back thicker as well in due course, am I still in the growing phase - would it still be possible to see more hair growth in the back or middle scalp say around the 7th or 8th month?? Less hairs/grafts were implanted on the crown so I am not as bothered about the crown but still money spent on it, so hope it will look thicker than it currently does. Perhaps 6 months is still too early!?

I am also worried that the "Island of hair" in the frontal middle zone (As seen before surgery) will thin soon and I would look worse but hope this won't be for at least another few years. Also the scalp doesn't itch so much anymore and the implanted zones no longer look pink. If anyone can advise me or has a thought on my progress and results so far please feel free to share them with me - I would appreciate this!?

It's been a long anxious wait (first few months) but it's good to finally see some results and now people say I look much younger - I feel younger and more confident but above all a much happier person! :::C

Congrats SS, that is a great result and more to come. Crown supposedly takes longer to grow in so just give it more time. I think you are right on or ahead of schedule. Looks so much better than preop ¬b`

I saw some photos of a guy who had a hair transplant at the same clinic two weeks after me and had 6,000 hairs - he sent me photos of his crown too - it looked similar to mine and thin as well so it's not just me....but i wonder why the crown takes longer?! I know there were less hairs implanted in my crown but the growth is almost like at the sames stage as the frontal zone was around (4 months) stage and it's 6 months. ha!

Anyway happy with the result so far, especially the front....look forward to seeing more growth and thicker density over the next few months.:::C

As you know after an anxious first 3 months seeing the implanted hairs shed and thinking (will it grow back, will it not, will it grow in the pattern of the marker (new hairline drawn), will it not? what if i get growing hairs, what if the roots fall out, what if the pink and numbness doesn't go? what if the pimples don't disappear? etc etc) so many 'What if's'!

Hey SS thanks for the update! your hair looks great its some transformation you have gone through! I understand the worry you go through will it grow etc, I am 3 months post op so your 3 months ahead of me. if my hair turns out near what yourss did I would be happy.

With regards to your island and anxiety about thining why don't you use proscar?
I only shampoo my hair every 3 days as they say more than that can damage the hair.

3 months? that's when the fun begins - tiny fine hairs right? can you see some?
You can see how much difference there is just between the 3rd and 4th month below:

I am on other medication like 3 other types (not for hair loss) but for other health issues and medical reasons so i can't take them and won't anyway. I have not used Minoxidil or Regain or taken any proscar or propecia. If I take too many pills i would start to rattle ! Haha also the price of it!! Have you found it effective?

I have lost the image at 6 months in the above post of mine so re-posted i've re-posted it here! Just look at the difference WOW! ¬b`:::C Looks so natural eh? Also it does match/follow the marked pattern of my new hairline at the frontal zone pre-op.:::C

Yeah starting to see fine hairs pop up but there is still gaps do they fill in in time?
I take proscar and i think i would have beenn totaly bald without it i was a NW3 before the op.
Would you not try some natural DHT blockers like Saw Palmetto? I also used nettle juice to bath my hair in a few years ago stop shedding and hair was crazy strong.
Anyway here i have my fingers crossed for strong hair growth and a good result.
By the way when did you let your hair naturally grow did you ever shave it?

Great to see that smile your hair is looking great really suits ¬b` you still plenty of time for mid scalp and crown to thicken up , the crown normally lags behind the rest thats from my own experience that is , you really look happy friend really wrapped for you and thanks for keeping us updated have agreat night

Wow! you've got great hairline and density too! It looks really natural too, in a sense that you wouldn't even think it was a transplant. This is primarily because you've got great hairline nailed down.

I am just over 7 months post procedure (once again thrilled with results) - However, I have noticed that the newly transplanted hair growth is still wiry and stiff and difficult to comb down or 'forwards' or in accordance with the direction of my natural hair' - especially the the frontal zone - which still grows up very stiff like a stalagmite - and not in the direction i want when styling it, it is very stiff and stubborn because instead of along it grows out and up. Is this normal or will the hair mature over time?

Also whilst the density is thickening I am still losing existing hair but was wondering if transplanted hair can still shed like normal hair but if so will it regrow?

PS - Still have a few stalled hairs falling out - i can tell they are stalled because they are all 2-3mm in length!

I can identify with this I also had wiry and stiff hair but it will get better I used a conditioner many times and made sure to get it right to the ends of the hair as well especially if your growing it long , after the year mark it got better and better and at 18 months it seemed just to settle all the best mate

Thanks - yes so wiry and stiff - The new hair doesn't seem to be soft and smooth growing like natural hair which grows along your head it sort of grows up and spiky! I can style it but only when it's wet. - It's the frontal zone where it's going back stiff.

BTW - How many months or years are you post surgery?

Hi Friend am about 4 years Post op from my 1st Surgery and 2 years Post op from my last surgery , it takes time for the hair to settle also my hair is wavy but even when my wife used tongs to straighten it was difficult and that was 8 months post op after my last surgery now its no problem to straighten , if I find it gets a bit frizzy or wiry I get a hair cut just 1/2 - 3/4 inch off and use conditioner and its fine give it a bit more time and hopefully it will settle

I think you've made decent progress from where you started. Is there any reason you don't take Finasteride? I'm sure it would help you losing more of your native hair
