Hello all, I’m 25 and was balding from 17 so wanted to try take early measures, in 2019 I started to use topical minoxidil and finastiride and have great results, so much so I was used for an advert, although this was great I kept getting scalp irritations so was advised to stop minoxidil in November 2021 whilst Continuing finastiride, since then my hair has become very thin and I have lost a lot of hair from the sides and through the middle, I still have some scalp problems which I am seeing trygoligst about to get sorted as I know I’ll need to do that before getting a HT, I was wondering if the oral minoxidil would be worth doing as the affects it had on my hair, opposed to my scalp, we’re previously very good, any help would be appreciated

I’ve attached the current situation and keen to know if anyone has any ideas

Were you not advised to try the a minoxidil product that doesn’t have ethanol (alcohol) and propylene glycol added? These two ingredients are the main cause of irritation.

Oral minoxidil I’ve been hearing positive reviews about. I would check with your family doctor that they’re ok with you taking it.

Who used you in their adverts?

I did get advised to move onto the foam type version but was having difficulty applying it (getting it to the right areas) so would end up probably using too much at times which causes this.

Thanks, I have regular blood tests due to a tyroid issue so my blood pressure is normal.

It was belgravia centre

Sometimes Nizoral shampoo will stop the itching. If not, then trying the foam or the above mentioned could help.
