Regaine Foam Results ?

Great of you to post your progress with ht medications. Some fortunate patients can see regrowth for as long as 2 years when using Finasteride and Rogaine Foam. After two years they see the meds holding onto hairs or at least slowing down the progression of hair loss. Slowing or halting hair loss progression is in itself a big benefit of ht meds. Although, it's not as much fun as seeing regrowth or thickening of native hairs. Good luck Lawson and thanks for the updates.

Hi Janna . Thanks for the advice.I have formed the opinion that many of the manufacturers claims on timescale for regrowth is on the optimistic side I did not intend to post anthing until the 3 month point since using the 15% on an night, but here is an update. Again I have tryed to keep the variables the same when I took the photo, i.e similar lighting ,just washed with same shampoo and brushed back.

I can see signs of new growth and as I started on the 28th July 2011 with the foam it is the 3 month point for the foam even though since the 6th Sept I have been using 15% at night and foam 5% in morning.

Think its now time to bring in the use of Proscar as well.

I think one of the most important factors is the photos , as without being able to look back I would sometimes question resultsc;;9c;;9

I agree with you whole heartedly that you need to keep a good photo documentation. If you see any regrowth, it's generally so slow that you question if it's really new growth at all.

It can be a pain to keep a good documentation but I'm sure it'll be appreciated by many. ;)

I can see there is a difference in your last update, i would say you are definately growing hair, so stick with it for a year at least.

Thanks for the update.

Cheers Bm.

Was going to wait till the next 3 month point (6/12/11) . however had some time so took a pic

Need to add as of 10/11/2011 I have started using finasteride as well , thanks to very helpful people on this forum.

I am noticing I am getting much better growth on one side as to the other, this was always the worst side.

4 awesome repairs with SMG
Things definately look better...thankyou for taking your time to document this process, it's very interesting to follow your progress, as these kind of things aren't shown on the forums very much.

I would say that there is an improvement from your pics, or at a minimum you are able to grow the hair longer which is progress in itself; showing less minaturisation.

Alot of people are of the mind that topical is the best and safest route with less contras to worry about, so this thread will be very useful to many many people.

My little regime of six months is Rogaine, Saw Palmetto (thanks Steve) and Nizoral shampoo. I have had no further hair loss over the last six months with definate thickening on the crown area. Temples have stayed the same as expected as nothing (as far as we know) can re-grow hair.

I honestly think I have regrown hair. dont think its just the thickening of existing hairs.the regime is a real pain but I want to give it a bit longer before HT .I am in no illusion that I will need a HT. I can honestly say I quite happy so far with results.

Thanks for that BM.

Bit more info. On an evening I now only use the higher strength at the front as I feel it was giving shedding in other areas that were fairly good.

With this being a mix of Regaine Foam and a higher strength it is hard to call this a good example of a trial of the foam now. But it seems ok at the moment so I will continue.

Wish I had done more research years ago and kept it up rather than giving in ! As said the front of my scalp has been like this for about 8 years.

Ok, so couple of months gone by since last pics so heres some more. Does not look like much difference since November but I think there is some differnce ! . Its really hard this time of year to get the light the same when taking pics but I think its fairly close to the others. And Yes , I have more hair on my chest than my head lol

When I question whats going on I simply look at my Day 1 pic for inspiration !

Something that is going to change soon is my use of the 15% minox as my supplier has gone belly up and no one seems to sell it anymorejavascript:emoticon(';ss;', 'images/emoticons/th_sad.gif') . However everyone I speak too in the know keeps stating there is no med eveidence that higher doses of minox work anyway ! So maybe I would have had the same just using the foam, who knows.

I am mindful that the best results from meds are claimed by the joint use of minox and finasteride , I have only been taking fin since 11/11/2011 , so its still early days for the pills .

Lawson,

I think there's clear indication of new growth from day 1 to now. And, as you say, you've only been on both fin and foam for around 2 months. The transformation is slow with meds - something like watching grass grow. It's why taking regular interval pics is so important. All in all, it's looking very positive.

As Janna says its important to keep photographic records from when you started to get a full evaluation of your progress, which i must say is looking great so far, hopefully you`ll continue to grow more and more hair.

Thanks for the update.

I have moved house since so photo is not in the same location as the others , however, the light levels I think are about the same.
