Regaine Foam Results ?

Hi,

I've just found this site whilst researching Regaine foam. I'm a bit sceptical of whether or not it will work, but you seem to have had excellent positive results !

I'm 40 years old and have been heading towards a 'penalty spot' on the crown of my head for a few years now. I still have some hair there but it is definitely getting thinner with time, my 9 year old son has been commenting on my 'baldy bit' lately and it got sunburt a few weeks ago when we had a weekend of hot weather.
I'm encouraged by your comment that the foam seems to thicken the appearance of your existing hair as well. I think that i am going to bite the bullet and buy some Regaine foam, i'm not looking forward to the expected initial shedding though !

Any advice that anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Hi , I had a bit of a mixed start with the meds. As you will see I first started regaine foam then went on 15% minox once a day until 2 months ago. I only started the finisteride last November.

For the last 2 months I have been using foam once a day all over and fin once a day. I am lucky that I can convince my GP to prescribe me finasteride 5mg tablets which I then cut inot quarters when required.

My advice would be gets on the tablets and use the foam once or twice a day.

I will be posting some more pics of my head at the end of this month .

Hi CJ1971.

Not everyone sheds while using the foam and if you do its usully only minor and not really noticeable.

Like Sun123 says, give it a go for at least 6 months and take regular pictures to compare.

Hi,

Thanks for the comments, i will have a search around the 'net today and see what sort of price i can find for few months supply of the Regaine foam.

I'm only planning on using the minoxidil on it's own for now.

Would it be better to get minoxidil liquid for application at night and foam for morning use ?, i only ask this as i have read that the a higher percentage of the liquid applied is likely to be absorbed into your scalp. Also, is the Kirkland minoxidil liquid one that i should consider ?

Thanks again,

Colin.

Using the Minoxidil at night is a good idea as it will work out cheaper,i would go for that option.

ok , not updated this since mid march , took these on the 27th July 2012. Some progess I think, had to take loads of photos to try and match the light from previous photos . Again I have brushed hair back and used same shampoo etc...

Since last update in March this has been Finasteride 5mg tablet quartered ( thankyou NHS ) and regaine foam once a day on a morning. Have been using dermatch everymorning which is a real pain but so much better than the fibres. Sometimes I may miss the odd application of the foam like on a weekend but never missed a tablet since started taking them last November. Suppose I have now been using minoxidil either foam or 15% I tryed for a year now come this August when I started this thread. The combined use with finasteride has to go on till November for it to hit the year point also.

Really weird thing I have noticed and you may just notice on my first pic , I had 2 or 3 greying hairs last year they have now gone and been replaced with brown ? never expected this.

I wonder how many grafts I would now need to have a good hair line .....?

Cheers for the update.

Hi

Looking great and their is a remarkable difference , I agree with BM get as much as you can out of the meds and then get consultations about a procedure.

Cheers

Hi Sun123,

What a fantastic result from the combination medications, you must be stoked? It's not too often you see a well documented case with pictures online.

Thank you so much for sharing.

Like the NHS 5mg quarter trick!

I'm too scared to try finasteride though. . .don't like the sound of the possible side effects. You can probably guess which inparticular!

So i'm sticking with Regaine for now. Can anyone tell me where they're buying it cheap? The best I've found is 41.30 for three months (with free delivery).

If anyone gets it cheaper, please let me know! :)

Not been on here for a while. Thanks for all the positive comments chaps it really helps. Noted the comment about the updates. I think its a real shame people do not document the results on a regular basis. Even the manufacturers don't seem to do this. Pictures showing that any progess is actually show I feel would stop people throwing the towel in with the meds, timescales stated for seeing any regrowth are often misleading.

Awkward to get any pics done at mo with darker mornings and out the door about 730 so will try put some on at the next 3 month point later , which will be a months time
