SbT HT update

Hello everyone, just want to give an update on my plans with my HT. I joined the forums a few years ago. Started Propecia and Rogaine foam. Had a consult with SMG, I wanted to give meds a chance to work to stabilize the hair loss, nw5a, with mid scalp hair that I comb forward, I use gel to keep it in place, not a good look, my hair loss has stabilized with slight regrowth.
The only difference in my hair is that I have more white hair, I had to put my issues with hair on the back burner, because of my dad's heart attack, his failing health and ultimately his passing. Six months later my mom is told she has stage 4 lung cancer, I was my moms caretaker. For two years my mom fought her battle with cancer but lost the battle this past September, 7 months later, I'm still mourning her loss.

I feel now is the time to start the process to address my hair loss which has bothered me for a very long time, my goals are modest, I want to address the front half with between 2500 to 3000 grafts, restoring the hairline, framing my face and be able to comb my hair in a ceaser style. Achieving this will be a huge boost for me, my top 3 clinics are SMG, Dr. Cooley and Dr. Konoir for a FUT procedure. I plan to have consults with all three, once I choose a clinic I plan to visit the clinic, meet the doctor, have a PRP session this summer and then have an HT in the Fall. My main issues are growth rates, good scar and shock loss of hair.
Thanks for reading guys, I will be updating the thread as time goes on,

I'm sorry to hear of the passing of your parents, SBT. I've been there myself so my condolences to you and your family.

I would encourage you however to move through the mourning process first, as much as possible, as making these kinds of decisions while still going through the process may not be the best thing to do at this time.

Hi SADbutTRUE.
You`ve had it tough these last few years, losing loved ones is always very stressful. The mourning process can take time. As Joe says, make sure you`re ok before going ahead with anything.
You`ve been on the forum for some time now, always supportive of others which shows you`re a caring person. When you do go ahead, I`m wishing you get a great result that meets all your expectations.
Thanks for being such a good forum member.
Take care.
BM.

So sorry for your loss SbT. What a rough few years you've had. Losing a parent is tough, I can only imagine how much tougher it is to lose both within a couple of years.

You're planning consults with three of the very best docs so I'm sure you'll get a great outcome whoever you choose.

All the best

Hi SadbutTrue,
I'm very sorry to here of your loss. I very much understand as I lost my Mom 13 months ago and my Aunt that we were primary caregivers two weeks ago. I agree with Joe, that perhaps you should give yourself some time. Like you I also would like to finish my repair, but many things have been put on the back burner. The stress of being a caregiver can take a significant mental and physical toll on your body, and you need time to heal. I wish you well in healing and your path to a successful transplant.

Sorry for your loss pal, although i haven't personally had to deal with the loss of a parent as yet i do know what it feels like to loose someone close as i lost my fiance many years ago....it does take time to come to terms with things like this and you have my deepest sympathy.
I agree wholeheartedly with the comments about you being a valuable froum member and a very caring guy, it shows a mile by the way you support people on here.

I wish you all the very best with your HT when the time comes dude..... the clinics you have chosen are all clinics i personally rate myself too.

I also think it's a very sensible idea to visit the clinics in person for a consult....this way they can answer your questions face to face and you will get a feel for which one you prefer.

All the very best pal;)

Don't blame you pal i would too if i were in your shoes....i know people might say i'm biased but they are all truly remarkable at SMG........CHANGED MY LIFE;)
I wish you all the best with whomever you go with though, ultimately you should go with who YOU feel most comfortable with dude and you shouldn't let people influence you......but you know this already pal.
All the best bud.
