Will try and find one for you buddy might take me a while though because if I did take one it would have been a long time ago (dont tend to take pics of my scar) so will have to try and find one.....will have a look though for you.

Below 1st pic is my scar before Shapiro medical repaired it by scar revision.

2nd pic is my scar revision.

3rd pic shows scar a few months after at grade 2 length (note it's still red as it wasnt long after surgery but shows it's still visible if I go too short.

4th pic shows it's totally disguised if I go anything above grade 2

Finally 5th pic shows really short with SMP which you've seen.

Shapiro did an amazing job to be fair as I can go pretty short without the SMP but with it I'm able to go super short.

Hi Jimbob,

Congratulations, the tattoo looks awesome.

It does a great job of masking the scar and I think you educated us all on here.

Cheers

Hi Jimbob,

I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your experience and posting photo's here, I am actually in a similar situation to you only I had an FUE and want to be able to shave my hair down, I didn't get the results I wanted from the hair transplant and just want out now and have exactly the same idea as you.. tattooing the back of my head! your tattoo came out amazing and I am actually surprised how well it covered, looks great! Are you happy with it? I'm in the process of looking for designs that I like.. I actually only registered on here to reply to you as this thread has given me hope that I can be free again.

I was under the impression people chose FUE over FUT so they could shave their hair down after surgery. Why do you need a tattoo if you haven't got a strip scar?

Yes Wylie
That was me
I had a free op after my 1st op with feller cos I wasn't happy but in exchange I had to show my pics online

I was told to style my hair so it look good
I was young and just agreed with spex and dr feller
My 2nd and last up with Dr feller made everything worse
I tried to explain to spex and dr feller
They just washed there hands of me

Just read this topic and think the tattoo covers the scar really well indeed. The quote above is a little concerning though, why would a clinic or clinics representative wash their hands of a patient? Don't know much about this Doctor but i'm glad i'm not his patient.

So it wasn't actual SMP, it was an attempt done by a Tattoo Artist right?

I have a strip scar to conceal as and i'm looking into SMP to just conceal the scar and sides, but all the pictures online are done by the SMP practitioners when they finish the work and not 3 or 4 years after it has been done.

I don't want to create a new problem on top of the one i already have.

A pic can be seen here:

Did you end up having SMP Cizinec? Have you considered adding grafts into the scar to disguise it?

Cizinec if your going to have Permanent SMP into the scar do your research dude I have personally seen some good results from Paul Clark of Brandwood and Damon Ashcroft of Bespoke. If your not from UK then Matt Lulo of Scalp Micro USA in the US does amazing work.

Haven't yet done it.

I'm considering having it done at Brandwood.

Have you had any work done with them?

No dude but seen their work in person and it's very good indeed.....Paul and Simon are very good as is Damon at Bespoke. They all know each other and started out at similar times in the business so they are all very experienced. Brandwood is a bigger outfit but Bespoke is more of a small personal place so depends in what your after.....all three have tons of experience with scars.

Yeah, I've never seen anyone in real life with smp on a scar.. actually I have seen once, and I was not impressed, but maybe it's because I'm just looking at everyone's heads trying to figure out if they had something done ( prob. a consequence of having a bad ht).

I actually had a Skype call with Simon from Brandwood and he said in my case id be probably looking for a 60% concealment ( even though they always aim for higher concealment). I'm still letting everything sink in. Having it done is not exactly a walk in the park, specially emotionally.

Cizinec could they not put you in contact with a past client like HT doctors do so you can see a result in person before committing to it?

Have you any pics of your scar Cizinec, if youve already posted it i'm sorry.....just curious so i can see why they are saying just a 60 percent improvement as i would have thought they could have got a little, better than that but they are likely just airing on the side of cation with their estimates dude.

If your planning on keeping your hair that short then SMP will look amazing on you I'm sure. When my back and sides are that short my scar is barely noticeable with the SMP..theres then a spot between the length on your pic and grade 2 where I can notice it a little but then it covers again when it gets to grade 3 and above with hair.
