I’ve had a long term relationship with my awesome girlfriend for 3 years now and we are really happy together , wouldn’t change her for the world

before I met her though I had been rejected by a date just based on my hair ,it is what it is I guess
But a lot of guys will have experienced that I’m sure

I have experienced the same actually. I have been on two or three dates where I have 'caught' the girl checking out my receding hairline. They quickly engaged eye contact again as soon as they realised that I saw them. Unfortunately many girls have red lines when it comes to perceived physical imperfections - whether that relates to hair, teeth, height. weight or looks in general. This especially applies to above average looking girls (and guys too) who I suppose view beauty or physical appearance as a currency they are not willing to compromise on. I would guess that it relates to having an inherent desire for their children to have the strongest possible genes or their partner being a 'social asset' i.e. someone they are proud to be seen with.

I think the world we live in now is considerably more shallow than it was decades ago - there is considerably more pressure on people to look good now and I can totally understand why this is a source of anxiety and depression for many people. We are constantly exposed to beautiful people on TV and in the media many of whom have had cosmetic work done. In the meantime, I will carry on waving the sapiosexual flag

I don’t wash daily anymore cause it’s bad for the hair , just wash once a week with clarifying shampoo

Washing hair once a week?!? I used to wash my hair everyday before my HT, I now wash it with shampoo every 2 days, the days in between when I have a show I just let shower cover it in water. I don’t think I could go a whole week without washing my hair it would be really greasy.

Honestly, that is great!

I'm sure im not the only person who thinks this, but seeing your hair growth has been a real boost and gives people a positive focus for when they go through their surgery

Did you keep your hair buzzed down over the first few months?

I've got my HT coming up and thinking what I should do "style wise" during the shedding few months. Is it best to try and grow out existing hair to what it used to look like or is keeping it all short better bet so at least it looks neat.

I think keeping it pretty short is ideal because otherwise your hair will constantly be different lengths with big, inconsistent patches of shedding. You can even throw some Toppik on it for a few hours if you need to be out and about.

I've cleared most of my work schedule over the next 3 months after my HT next week! This just seemed like the perfect year to do it since literally no one will see me outside of work and shops, because the first 3-4 months just leave you looking awful.
