Just been watching a program on TV called rich holiday, poor holidays. One family on there were millionaires and I wondered how they made their millions and I gave them a google. They made a shampoo for hair loss. I’ve never heard of it, just wondered if anyone has used it here. It’s quite expensive so does it really work??

I remember reading the story about this family and the shampoo. They say it`s a shampoo for hair loss. What does this mean? Will it stop you from losing hair to MPB? The short answer is NO. Will it make your existing hair grow healthier and stronger, quite possible. Will it slow down your normal hair shed cycle retaining your hair longer, quite possible, hence it will help with hair loss that goes through the normal shedding cycle.

What the shampoo does is nourish your existing hair. It does not regrow hair that`s gone. No shampoo on this earth will regrow hair that`s already gone. Anyone who makes these claims is a snake oil salesman. When shampoos are marketed the wording they use is clever. "It grows hair" Yes, it helps your existing hair grow quicker but it does not grow new hair. If there were a shampoo that did this on its own we`d know about it and it would be marketed as an alternative to Finasteride and Minoxidil.
The ingredients in the shampoo are feeding your existing hair, as well as cleaning your scalp. Similar to adding fertilizer to the soil to help a plant grow faster and stronger.

What you will find if you do a little bit of research is quite a few of the hair loss shampoos have the same ingredients. They usually differ by someone adding or detracting a certain ingredient such as nettles. The marketing industry knows if something is labeled a hair loss or hair growth shampoo they can increase the price.

The Watermans shampoo is expensive when you compare it to regular ones such as Head and Shoulders but compared to some other hair loss related shampoos it is good value.

I change my shampoo quite often. I`ve used the cheapest ones to quite expensive ones. Most recently I was using head and shoulders but I noticed my scalp was becoming dry with dandruff. I have no idea why the H&S did not prevent this. For the past few weeks, I`ve been using Pura d`or original gold label shampoo. It`s available on Amazon. The bottle is twice the size of Watermans but twice the price so they both work out very similar in price. I`m impressed with it. After 3 or 4 washes my scalp was normal again. Like Watermans, it nourishes the hair, stops it breaking and helps the hair stay longer before shedding.

Thanks Bigmac for the info. I too have suffered the same symptoms as you with head and shoulders, so will probably try some of that stuff you mention above.

Almost, but chose to try out the Pura d’or you mentioned (shampoo and conditioner). Only just arrived so only used a couple of times so far.
Feels like a quality product albeit should be given the cost.
Ended up buying through Iherb website.
Will let you know how I get on.

Sounds good. It is pricey but a decent size bottle.
Look forward to hearing how you get on with it.

Hi guys, thanks for this recommendation regarding Pura D'or. I'm just wondering, how often does everyone wash their hair?

Depends on your hair characteristics, if it’s long, greasy, dry etc but I tend to wash mine every 2 days unless it’s sticking up all over the place and I have to wash it.

Hi there, I'm looking to buy a bottle of Pura D'Or gold label shampoo from iHerb. Does anyone know if you have to pay any import taxes on it?

Where did other people buy theirs from?

Cheers,
Matt

I’m not sure on that one Matt. I would email them and ask.
They have it on Amazon but the price seems to be high, especially when it was in The Sun with a price tag less than £30.

I’ll see if I can source other suppliers.

I used the U.K. IHerb site (uk.iherb)and the price quoted was the all in price - no extras - no issues with delivery.

Thank you, Bigmac. I thought the price on Amazon seemed too high compared with iHerb, but I wasn't sure if that meant iHerb didn't include all charges. Appreciate your help.

Thanks for this, ChrisN. Out of curiosity, did you buy yours in 2021, after the UK was officially out of the EU?

That's awesome, ChrisN. Thanks for letting me know. I'll go ahead and buy it with them. Did you get free shipping with that?

For anyone who's interested, there is a welcome offer if you're purchasing from iHerb for the first time. 25% off if you enter the code WELCOME25 (if I remember correctly). Might be a good reason to buy more than one bottle.
