Hi. I have known about Farjo Hair Institute for over 10 years now. I was orogiinally put in touch with Mick Mchugh. He was the first person I spoke to.

I unfortunately have a large scar on the right side of my face. Mick being the nice guy he is got me in touch with TV show Embarrassing Bodies and sorted it out for me to have a beard hair transplant.

The outcome was amazing and changed my life. So much so that I decided to call them again and had a small section at the front if my hairline sorted. Once again brilliant experience.

Unfortunately almost 10 years later my hair receded even more. So I got back in touch with Mick, had a consultation with Dr Farjo.
He explained all my options.

The good thing I always find about Farjo is, there is never any hard sell. No pressure to book in. No pressure to spend a fortune. My option in the end was Fue.

I had 1500 grafts Yesterday 25th February 2022. The team who performed the surgery couldn't do enough for me. I basically lay there watching Netflix all day whilst they grafted ( excuse the pun ) away all day.

As usual at Farjo you're made to feel at home, comfy and totally relaxed from the minute you walk in until you leave. The experience is relatively painless. Other than the anaesthetic which is mildly uncomfortable.

When you leave you're given a pack containing various home instructions including medication and even a hat for if you don't want people to see what you've had done. You also receive Dr Farjo's personal phone number which you can contact anytime. Should you have any problems or worries.

Once again 10/10 for Farjo Hair Institute. I honestly cannot recommend them highly enough

Hi Flystonbury and welcome to the forum. It sounds like everything was a positive experience with the surgery going smoothly. Those 1500 grafts should help to provide a good illusion of hair for your hairline and frontal third. What a nice thing for Mick to organise with Embarrassing Bodies. It’s great to hear the beard transplant was successful in concealing the scar and giving you your confidence back.
Would it be possible to add a before picture?
Also, as your hair loss continued after your first hair transplant I assume you’re not on hair loss prevention meds or they’re just not that effective for you.

No I'm not currently on meds for hair loss. The reason being I'm a transplant patient and i cannot take oral meds in case they interact with my immunosuppression medication
They are in fact the reason I got skin cancer in the first place. I don't think I have any photos from before the beard transplant but I could put an up to date one on here tomorrow If you go on the Farjo Institute website I think there's still a video of me on the embarrassing bodies program with clips of the procedure.

They’re a great clinic and really look after you. Work looks really clean.

Can I just double check, did you say oral hair loss meds gave you cancer or have I read that wrong?

No sorry. I had a heart transplant and the immunosuppression medication to stop the heart rejecting obviously lowers your immune system. I also work outside. So that's how I got the skin cancer. With having a low immune system im more susceptible to getting cancer. I cannot take oral hair loss meds because they interact with my immunosuppression drugs.

Sorry to hear you’ve been through so much but I’m glad you`re here with us. Hopefully, you were not destined to lose any of these grafts from your donor and they last forever. I’ll check out the website for your video.

Hy flystonbury you mentioned 1500 grafts if you don’t mind me asking what would a ball park figure be for the work that as been done ? I know someone who had some work done in turkey last year I am aware it tends to be a lot cheaper over there but the thought of travelling to another country puts me off . But was wondering if the uk price would be out of my reach or worth getting it priced up . Thanks Dan

Unfortunately I can't give you a ball park figure as everyone's options may be completely different.

All I would say is give them a call. Go and have a consultation and take it from there.

I'm not much use to you sorry. I really couldn't tell you. I went for consultation in October and had the procedure last week but. There was a cancellation which allowed me to have my procedure.

If you speak with them they might be able to get you in sooner.
