I have a female friend that I sent some samples of a weight loss/performance formula I have been working on. Anyway she really likes the taste which was the main reason for the test. During a recent conversation she mentioned how fast her hair seemed to be growing lately and she thought it was due to some fish oil capsules that she was taking which made me laugh.

I gave here at least a couple of month €™s worth of this formula and it is extremely high in vitamin C from a natural plant source and the formula requires raw eggs which she adds and blends. It was very well known at least 30 years ago when Durk Pearson and Sandy Shaw came out with their book Life Extension. High amounts of cysteine which happen to be in eggs when combined with high amounts of vitamin C accelerate the growth of hair.

Of course raw eggs for most would be problematic as they have been conditioned to fear it. Much better to eat the foods that are completely sterile and can sit on a shelf for years and can still be eaten but that €™s a debate for another day. In this case you could go with more cooked eggs preferably soft boiled and add some more vitamin C to your diet preferably foods like berries or something similar. Hope this helps and the rest is just patience.

Cheers topccat. Thanks for the advice. I have a diploma in nutrition (a hobby of mine) so I consider my diet to be very healthy. I do not follow conventional wisdom at all and do not eat man made processed food. I actually eat around 16-20 eggs (yolks being the best part) a week and eat a lot of berries. Plenty of red meat, sweet potatoes, oily fish, avocados, butter, dark green veggies, olive oil to name a few and bobs your uncle.

I think its really just lack of patience of my behalf. Bring on the next couple of weeks!!

Hey Stublu...........lol........I completely forgot we were on the same page, we seem to be in the minority most of the time.

Yes patience is the key.

Hi Stublu

Thanks for updating. You are on a great diet and this will only help and I had no idea of your diploma. It is great to have something so practical and good to see your regime also.

Look forward to the continued healing and anything you need just let me know.

I am also a BHR patient and my procedure was identicle to yours. I was originally in for 1600 grafts but ended up with 2000. However, my operation was completed in one day albeit a long day.

Yeah topccat, we certainly are in the minority alright. The majority are very much fat phobic thanks to years of terrible governmental advice advising the consumption of low fat products as well as ample amounts of indigestible grains. I think the tide is beginning to turn slightly against the lipid hypothesis but governmental bodies will be the last to admit their mistakes. Its all very simple really, just eat natural, free range and local products in their whole form and avoid low fat and man made nonsense (especially vegetable oils and high fructose corn syrup).

Cheers Steve, one quick question for you. Can I apply some concealer (Caboki natural fibres) to help bulk up the hairline or is that still a no-no? Don't want to hinder any growth obviously.

Dantheman, hope the results are coming along nicely. That must have been a very tough day!!

Hi Stublue

Clinics have different approaches to concealer usage post surgery. The concern is that if left on and not washed off as should be then they can cause healing and growth issues and I have seen this to be the case in a few patients who did use concealer religiously and did not follow the instructions for it but did literally cake it on layer upon layer and nedless to say issues ensued.

Caboki binds to the hair and not covering the scalp as such so is a better method but again ensure to follow the usage and wash off at night completely.

Stublu I agree, don €™t want to take your thread too far off topic but I doubt massive change will ever happen. Bottom line you cannot make any substantial money from selling real food. I know many farmers and they just make a living. When the masses understand this concept then we will seen change but the marketers are in complete control so that will not happen. Processed foods are probably a trillion dollar market, and statins alone at least a 10 billion dollar market only the tip of the iceberg here.

Hey you seem to be a reader. Just read a good title €œSalt, Sugar, Fat How the Food Giants Hooked Us € It €™s interesting what goes on behind the scenes just like the HT industry in a way €¦ €¦..lol €¦ €¦ €¦ €¦

The caveman diet? If they couldn't eat it, we shouldn't either.

Cheers Steve, if I do apply any it will be a minimal amount and I will absolutely make sure to wash it off completely.

Topccat, ill definitely give that a read alright, sounds good.

Jessop, I advocate the caveman diet alright but I also think there is room for some foods they tend to avoid such as rice, dairy and certain well soaked grains. Having said that, if you are metabolically damaged (like a lot of Westerners) I would take all the above out of the diet. And if we exercise a lot we need to increase our carbohydrate intake. Nowhere near the 60% of calories conventional wisdom recommends but more that some caveman (paleo) people recommend.

I thought the caveman diet was just eat natural food. No processed meats etc.

Yeah it pretty much advocates natural foods alright. Some proponents also recommend no dairy, no legumes, no rice, no grains and only in season fruit and veg. They aren't in favour of processed meats but they can be eaten in moderation. Grass fed meat and free range poultry is far superior. I like where they are coming from but feel the diet can be a little extreme and carbs are not the devil! Especially if you are active like we all should be. That's my 2 cents anyway.

So it has now been over 9 weeks since I had the HT and I would say that my hair is finally back to its pre-HT look (apart from the shock loss in the donor area!). Its taken a lot longer than I thought it would but I was pretty naive I reckon (stupidly thought it would only take around 4 weeks!!). Obviously I am yet to see any growth in the recipient area and I dont expect to see anything for at least another month or so. I'm hoping the shock loss in the donor area will start to recover a little sooner but still no sign of improvement yet. I continue to shave the sides and backs to help hide the shock loss so its not too bad. My greyish hair on the sides also helps disguise the shock loss too. As you can see from 2nd photo attached my hair is now long enough to disguise the unusual loss i have in the centre forelock, which is a very good thing as I am quite conscious of the loss in that area. This area is my major concern and I am still not 100% sure the HT completely addressed this but time will tell.

Anyway let me know your thoughts/questions if you have any. Cheers.

I think that'll have a huge aesthetic impact! Do you have any photos of your donor?

Congratulations!

Hi Stublue

Thanks for the update.

Shockloss in the donor takes around 3 months to kick back in usually, for some slightly longer and I've heard of guys saying even 4 to 5 months, but the important thing is it came back.

As said some are more prone, I in 8 surgeries never had it at all but others do even with smaller surgeries, so it is to a degree in individual reaction.

Hope the coming months you see some nice changes and sure you will.

The shock loss area will return, normally comes back when the ht hair starts growing in.
