Hi guys,
Sorry I've been busy of late. The computer crashed so lost my 4 monthly photos but I took some 5.5 months' photos to send to Stephen. Was intending to post 6 months shots but won't be at home so will come back at month 7.
Before I talk transplants note that I have decided to start to grow my hair out and I had a lot of it minus the recession pre-op. I will grow it for a couple of months on top yet.
Transplanted hair has started to grow. My hair is definitely thicker now than it was pre-op and if I had grown it to this length I would need to apply concealer beforehand. The recession points are filling in, though not yet full and the right side is coming in faster than the left. I've read before uneven growth and one side faster than the other is not uncommon. Stephen has kept true to his word and is in regular contact and agrees things are positive at this point and he too is confident that there is further progress ahead.
It's a good start and I am grateful for the progress so far. I haven't forgotten about this thread and will make sure I keep everyone updated.

Hi richfrog,
I take Propecia and have done for 4 or 5 years now. 1/4 Proscar to be precise. I also take cod liver oil, a multivitamin and zinc daily. Have done this year for years as well. I only lose the odd hair in the shower these days and (touch wood) my loss has been next to nothing in the past few years. Crown and midscalp are very strong I think it is fair to say.
I opted not to go on Regaine post op as when I stopped last time (6 or 7 years ago. Doesn't feel like that!) I went through a heavy shed as I beleive a lot of hairs had become Minoxidil dependent and it had grown very few new ones. I found the alcohol drying which caused my scalp to flake also. That is my experience but I am aware others have had good results with it. Maybe because I was applying at the front of my head as opposed to the back I didn't feel it did as much for me as others beleive it did for them.

Thanks martin,
I also had no luck when trying minox in the temple area, and just like you said it made my scalp itch too, also made my hair look terrible so didnt bother with it anymore.
just noticed all the adverts on TV for it aswell, all the blokes are nw1 on that lol, it only shows 1 guy with slight crown thinning.
Did you get any sides on proscar?

The foam version of regaine may be better than the liquid with regard to to the irritation it can cause.

We spoke via email a few weeks ago and he seemed happy with the progress. We always try to see previous patients when possible so will see him in London in August for a check up. Sure he will keep the forum members updated prior but it will be a good time to get clear pics and so measurements etc.

Results have been very good overall. I don't spend much time fussing with my hair anymore and certainly no concealers. My one small issue was that I didn't feel the very front of my hairline had came in as dense as I had hoped but the rest is all nice and thick.
I met Dr Bisanga and Stephen in London at the end of August and after examination was invited to book a FREE touch up with the team. Everything was up front and honest and they should be commended for this. I am now booked to return to Brussels for a 150-200 FUE touch up. I am happy to do this.
BHR are an excellent clinic. I am delighted with the choice that I made and the ethics and care I have been given during my time as a patient.
I am delighted with my result and I would recommend that anyone considering a hair transplant drop Stephen an email at the very least.

Now that I am 12 months post op from a small hairline touch up and 26 months from my original transplant I felt I should update.
The result is excellent as has been the experience. As well as getting the hairline I wanted I feel I have learned an awful lot along the way. Both as a person and about the hair transplant procedure.
BHR stood by me at every turn just like they promised they would. I am delighted with my decision and the result.
The pictures have been taken after using a hairdryer and there are no styling products. This is not dissimilar to how I wear my hair and I feel it to be a true reflection of its appearance.
