Orlhair is happy with his result from his 3048gr strip session with Dr. Ron Shapiro from 1 1/2 yrs ago. One of his main concerns prior to strip surgery was the donor scar. He ended up with nearly undetectable strip scar. He normally shaves to a #3 guard so the strip scar has never been an issue.

We wondered if he'd be able to notice the scar at #2 guard. Seeing the scar in person at #2 guard, you could make it out slightly if you're looking for it. You can easily pass it off as hat hair. The flash from the camera at #2 guard makes the scar look more stark than it appears in person. When Orlhair looked in the mirror, he couldn't see it very well. We shaved his head with #2 guard all over in preparation for his FUE procedure. Then shaved the back to #1 guard and #1/2 guard to take pics.

I'll post some pics from his FUE procedure shortly.

For now, I thought the 17 pics were sufficient to show his result from his strip surgery.

Thanks for posting Janna. I made it home fine before the frigid weather set in! Doing well. Hair is already starting to grow back from the military shave :) Thanks again to you and everyone at SMG.....I couldn't be happier.

Mars,

That's hard to say. I've seen couple other patients who came in with really short haircuts and it was really difficult to see their scars. It's tough to compare since we weren't able to shave the donor area like we were able to with Orlhair.

Thanks Dazz!

I would have to agree. That is probably the best I have seen as far as scars go.

Glad you're home safe. You are lucky to be in Fla right now. It's ridiculously cold and windy here. Sometimes, I can't believe I live here. ::;mb

I'll get your FUE pics posted soon.

Thanks! I can't believe how fast I am healing from the FUE procedure. Hair is already growing back and starting to cover the strip scar again.

Day 1 was all day until around 5 or 5:30. Day 2 was until around 2:30 or 3:00.

For a session size of 1500 grafts via FUE, it can be done in one day in most instances. Orlhair had two surgery days scheduled so there wasn't a rush to complete it at all.

Orlhair's FUE Procedure with Shapiro Medical -
He had 969 grafts extracted with the Artas system and 544 grafts via SAFE system. Donor area dyed to see hairs better for extractons.

1513 grafts/2850 hairs
1's - 453
2's - 789
3's - 271

These pics are one day post op from his FUE procedure.

I think that Orlhair will achieve a more subtle difference this time with 1500 grafts placed throughout the frontal 1/2 of his head. I know he'll be able to notice the difference and appreciate the outcome - not sure how much we'll be able to notice from pictures. However, we all know Orlhair will keep a thorough documentation of his progress. Heal and grow well Orlhair!
