Swimming after HT

Hi everyone,

Quick one about swimming. I had FUE surgery 12 days ago and went swimming today. Didn't have any warning about this from the clinic when they gave me my instructions so assumed it was fine.

Tried to keep my head out of the water as much as possible, and wore a swimming cap. Naturally some chlorine got on though.

Now I'm a bit worried because most of the guidance says you should wait at least 14 days before swimming.

Have washed my hair with shampoo and conditioner. Is there anything else I can do to minimise possible chlorine damage?

Thanks!

I think you will be ok as your scalp should be healed with the grafts secure. Double check with the clinic just to be sure.

Chlorine can be harsh but with you only getting a small amount on I`d say you`ll be fine. I would advise anyone to wait as long as possible before exposing their newly transplanted head to swimming pool water. Always best to follow the clinic post op instructions.

They say your grafts should be secure by that time so you should be ok dude as said....I'd be terrified of putting the swimming hat on myself as them things are damn tight i think..but at 12 days you should be fine just my own thoughts . As BM said though probably best to wait as long as possible as a general rule to air on the side of caution.
