Zionaxel`s Flap repair with BHR..

In essence the plan is as below:-



With regard to the surgery performed, the approach altered a little from the initial consultation to the morning as Dr. B decided to change tact slightly; initially it was to FUE punch behind the hair line and then place in to the necrosis area of the hair line, then take beard hair and fill the scars as much as possible.

This altered slightly because a major concern for all was to over time recreate the hair line as natural as possible, the initial option would have left the very regimented line of the flap and high density so the plan we went with was to thin out the entire flaps including directly on the hair line, then using this hair in conjunction with beard hair fill the scars either side. This was achieved with punching 664 FUE, around 300 beard and the remaining coming from the hair line.

What does the future hold; to place in to the necrosis area of the hair line to give continuity to the hair line, continue to thin out the flap areas more and place behind the hair line including more beard hair so when shaved there is a slight shadow of hair over the frontal third, low density but enough when shaved hopefully to give a decent progressive look of thinning from the hairline back.

JJ09 yea wet shaved many times , looks good if you were to look real close up you may see a little red but basically you cant see that anything was done.

Three weeks update and the FUE punches from the flap are healing very well and many cannot be seen now, the grafts placed in the scar have started to fall out now also.

its always a downer though when the grafts start to fall:'#G:: but try not to worry dude they will return....now for the waiting game

Three and a half months post op no sign of any growth yet a few small dots here and there but will still give it time..

Hi Zion,

Hope you're well. Hang in there it is early days at just over 3 months and considering the hair is into scar tissue, I'm sure what you are seeing is the first signs of regrowth, and the rest will follow is good time.

TBH I dont know when my fue into my scar started growing, as I dont tend to keep my hair short. Hopefully theres still lots more to come, in the scar.

Hi Zion, as Stephen says the growth will be delayed due to the grafts being put into scar tissue so the waiting game may take a little longer I guess this is not such a problem considering how long you have waited to start this repair.

I read your blog and have checked out your pics I am really rooting for you as a repair patient I can feel the emotions that you went through I had my first surgery 14 years ago and remember that feeling in the chair of wtf am I doing here and that it was too late to turn back. I admire your attitude to just get on with your life as best as you can and not to crumble like some people would, I have always said coping with loosing your hair at such a young age is one thing but coping with a bad ht is another thing altogether.

Well done to the clinic for offering to help can I assume that the long term goal is to thin out the flap area to make it appear thinning ie more natural, put grafts from there into the immediate hairline to cover the scar and necrosis area and into the scars at the back of your head, are we looking at another two or three sessions of work?

Hi Garageland

We want to re-create a natural hairline as far as possible, thin out the area of the flaps, which we commenced with in the first operation when putting the grafts to the scar areas. We then need to place more into the necrosis area of the hairline again thinning out the flaps, in doing so and giving more continuity. Along with more beard hair we will place into the frontal third to give a shadowing effect of coverage.
