Thinking back to my fue i`m pretty sure i had no growth until 6-7 months post op so imo all normal and those little black dots will soon be little prickly hairs.

Everyone grows at a different rate. Scar tissue undoubtedly will delay your growth. I had a Ht into scar tissue and really noticed growth at around the 18 month mark (not the signs of growth, but the signs of a change in appearance, i.e., more hair.)
By my estimation, it didnt even start growing until the 12-14 month mark then. Since it was a small session spread out through native hair, it was not as obvious. So you, no doubt, have to be more patient than someone who has never had any work done.
Strangely, a recent session of mine was 6 months ago, and it was into "virgin" territory in an attempt to repair my hairline (so far, so great) and it grew faster than any HT I can ever remember having. But the "virgin territory" is gone now, so all future repair for moi will come with the caveat it show results till around the 12-18 month mark.

Pretty bizarre within a few days you can start to see something happening, there are signs of growth just a few mm ..

Hi Zionaxel. Just came across your case and was wondering how the repair is going? I too was a victim of the HT Industry and was screwed up by Dr Brandy& NuHart in the 1980's. It was a long road but I am doing a lot better and like to check up on patients who have to undergo the Repair Process. I hope it is getting a lot better for you as I know how tough it can be. It took me over 3 years to get the full growth in. Hang in there & keep us updated.

Dr. Patrick Frechet has only done flap (triple flap) surgeries for many, many years. He says he produces happy patients so I'm sure he'd say his procedures are successful.

To be honest not to well , one of the scars is slightly better than the other but I knew before having the procedure that having fue placed into scars can be hit and miss . I really appreciate what bhr did plus the forum for putting up the pro bono offer . Things in life don't come for free and when something happens like this it just goes to show you that there are some good people out there .
Janna I really don't know if I will have any more work done , I did look into different options a year or so back and I think one of the reasons I really have not been reading the forums for a long time is I think finally I have come to terms with my appearance and am not fighting against it anymore , if I could finally look normal then I would , but to live for 18 or so years hating the doctor who did this is not to healthy, when in fact it was my decision to have the flap op no one forced me to have it done . I should of been stronger and wish that I could of handled hair loss at an early age better . Well you live and learn the hard way ..

Yes Zion some lessons are learned the hard way and there are evil people in the world that simply will do anything for money. Who are these people and why do they do these things one can only wonder? Seems like we were both glued in that chair and that is where we connect. We couldn t get up the conditioning of the medical establishment was that powerful. I no longer respect that establishment but I do respect good people.
I wish I had the right answer for you as we have spoken and you are a good person. Here is a thought and just something to maybe put at the back of your mind that s what I normally do as a solution usually seem more apparent when using the right side of your brain. I recently shaved the sides of my head to show that I do not have white dotting on my head. I am going to post the picture here as you can see the scar from the hairlift but it really doesn t bother me nor do I feel self conscious about it. I think the best approach would be excising that whole flap with someone who is excellent with face lifts or brow reductions. If you could end up with a scar this thin I think it would make a huge difference for you. Of course it s a huge undertaking but something to think about.

I have spoken to a few plastic surgeons including Dr Lindsey about having the flap removed , some recommend using a tissue expander to stretch the scalp beforehand but I dont think I could go through with that for a couple of reasons . But it would most likely be the best way to achieve the best result , also if there is any chance that I would end up with the wide eye effect I wouldn't do it .
Obviously I'm quite interested in how Lindsey's patient turns out and for his sake I really hope it turns out well .

What was your impression of Dr Lindsey? Did he also recommend the tissue expander?
