Hopefully, your scalp clears up soon and returns to your pre op stage. It’s good to hear Dr Ferreira is in regular contact with you.
I’ll look forward to your next update.

Any updates? I have surgery with him scheduled in January. I'm sure you don't have much growth yet but has the redness cleared up?

Hi Mate. I've had a tiny bit of growth around where my existing hair was but in general nothing has come through yet. The redness has virtually gone now though but I still have a bit of numb feeling to the recipient area from what I understand can last for a while! Donor area looks virtually untouched and I had it shaved down to a 1 fade with no issues. Any questions about your HT with Dr F drop me a message on here. Il post some more photos at the three month stage :)

Here's some photos at the 9 week post op stage. Apologies the quality isn't great as they're taken on my phone camera.

Donor looks to have healed well. The recipient area is still red, this may take a while to settle down with your fair complecation.

16 Week Update

Quick update; I think I've had some decent early growth with new hairs popping up daily which is satisfying to see! I've attached some photos below, apologies for the quality as my house mates are on holiday for a couple of weeks so it's simply a selfie with flash (The redness doesn't look so bad in person!) In general I am pleased so far, don't really think about about it much and to be honest quite actually quite enjoy not having to style it or do anything after a shower! I will probably buzz cut it at some point so it all grows back at the same length! Does my growth look as expected for four months post op? Any comments or questions are welcomed :)

Looking like it's about to take off. I'm right behind you as I had surgery Jan 11/12 with Dr Ferreira. I haven't had the issues early on. I suspect that travel by plane early on might be part of the cause for fibrin, but that's just my opinion (not an educated medical one ). I stayed for about 10 days afterwards. Sprayed probably every 30 min with saline and I think it helped with healing. I know that everyone can't do this though.
Following closely of course.
Good luck and please keep updating us.

It looks like you’ve had a little bit of growth so far. I can see the hairs along the hairline which are giving it some shape as it was pretty non existent before surgery. Your native hair in the forelock has returned with the rest of the recipient area having a steady uniform growth. I think you could possible have a good growth burst these next 2 months.
Buzzing your hair down will look good.
Thanks for providing the update.
All the best.

Just had a low skin fade done so thought I'd show some photos of the donor! Few tiny visible patches but I think it looks decent.. I definitely think the finasteride has thickened my native hair up as was super thin all over when I started it around 18 months ago!

Looks good! Really only spot is upper left it seems?

I just brought my son to the barber yesterday and he was looking at my hair. He could only see 1 or 2 red spots in my donor and he was combing through looking for the holes.
He looked at my picture right after surgery and was in disbelief that many holes were in my head just 2 weeks ago. Even rubbing around my donor I feel only 1 or 2 spots of very mild pain. He's thinning himself and has 3 customers with prior work. He said mine looked amazing and now he's considering having a HT lol. Time will tell but I think Dr. Ferreira is a good Dr.

The growth is beginning…..the donor might still be in the recovery process from shock loss with the odd thin spots i can see.

Everything looks good to me. As Bn mentions, some small spots may have some shocked hair but it`s not very noticeable. The average person in the street would not notice anything.
Good to hear you think your hair health is improving with the Finasteride. It really can make a big difference.
All the best.

Them pimples appearing in the hairline usually indicate growth. Did you pop them or leave alone?

Five Calendar Month Update:

I had my 5 month reminder from Dr F for photos yesterday so I thought I'd share them here too, his feedback was that progress is slower than usual but fully expected due to the complications I had but still on track so nothing to be concerned about. I am pretty pleased with how its looking so far! Apologies for the quality of photos but i tried to get it dry and fresh out of the shower. Any comments or thoughts? Can't wait for it grow properly and feel like "normal" hair rather than the wirey baby hairs...

Growth is there and for 5 months nothing to be concerned about... I expect the doctor sees more growth time frames like yours, I think the ones who have tons of growth by 5 months are the exception.

The hairline shape is there, going from temple to temple. The whole transplanted area looks to have an even growth which should continue to thicken each month. At 5 months I think it’s pretty decent and on course.
