I have nothing but praise for the clinic, yes my first procedure was lacking density in some places but the clinic gave me a top up to make sure I was happy with the final result. I posted my 6 month post Top up update the other week which shows how well my top up is coming on and I’ve still got 6 more months of growth to come.

By the way @Bobbins and @Follicly_challenged your hair is looking great!!!

From what I've read and heard they appear to make every effort to ensure the patient is happy with their final result which is excellent and it's great that they have delighted customers such as @Baldingman23 (Who's hair is looking splendid btw! :))

However, my main concern is that I haven't been able to find out the reason why they have gone from having really good consistent results pre-2020 to some of the less consistent results in the years after. That's just my honest opinion and the reason I wouldn't feel confident booking with them at this moment in time.

I agree with the sentiments expressed above that once people post their results, good or bad, it's not really helpful to simply bash the clinic. I appreciate @Bigmac for posting this thread and allowing the discussion as it seems to derail alot of threads with people debating the clinic rather than the results of a specific case.

Completely agree @Norwood - I had surgery with the Hair Dr when they were producing very good results and I was thinking of having some beard grafts transplanted into my crown this year, but would not consider them now based on the results they are producing. We all have very limited donor supplies, so I think we need to be careful about how we use them.

It's great that they offer free top ups, but if the surgery is done correctly the first time, there should be a need for the number of top ups that are required. It seems like there are lots of patients on here with inadequate growth, who have to go through the inconvenience of another surgery.

All of the team at the Hair Dr are very good people, who care for their patients, so it is such a shame that they are producing results that seem poor.

It’s difficult given the lag between surgery and result; 5-6 months at least to get an indication.

I’ve been promising results for those that have had surgery at the end of 2021 or later. I’m pleased with mine, and you mentioned baldingman’s.

I guess that to restore some confidence they’ll need to continue showing no poor results throughout this year. I’m hoping mine will be one of those. At the moment it’s relatively safe to say the yield will be average or above, but the proof will be in the pudding in a few months.

In terms of the clinic ‘explaining the results they had in 2021’, I just can’t see that happening from a potential liability perspective.

I never created this thread. It was a concerned patient from the clinic.
The comments are mainly from confirmed patients who have documented their journey. They did not know how their results would turn out when they began posting. There is no bias. The forum has supported happy and concerned patients alike.

I recently saw your comment saying the clinic was a darling of the forum. I’m not sure what you exactly meant by this comment. The clinic was popular because they had a large number of patients documenting their journey. A number of these patients are the ones that are unhappy with their final results. It’s nothing to do with the forum, it’s whatever happened at the clinic or for reasons unknown.

There is nothing stopping new patients from posting. They will be fully supported, just like any other clinics patient.

You’re at 5 months or so. This is usually way too early to see results. Months 7-8-9 are usually when most see good growth. The end result though is not seen until 12 months and sometimes later but clinics in most cases will make a decision at 12 months whether they feel the result met expectations.

I do hope you get a great result that you’re happy with.

Thank you. I much prefer OS X to Linux myself.

Maybe darling was unfair, so to clarify - there were many threads documenting positive journeys and patients (and non patients) recommending them in threads.

I’ve read on multiple threads that you believe there is no bias against the clinic amongst posters (more than there is any other), and whilst we disagree, I respect your opinion.

The sentiment of my post above still has value (I believe) - that to restore confidence, people will need to see the final outcome of procedures across a variety of patients and they’re not yet available. I don’t think that necessarily indicates that poor results are still being produced (take balding man’s top up, for example). However, the naysayers will point to a lack of complete evidence as a indication it may be. Those more positive will compare the results of poor outcomes with current case progress and try to take confidence that ‘something’ has changed that will bring better results.

Am I biased? Judging too soon? Well, quite probably - probably a coping mechanism to reduce anxiety while I wait to be proven right (or wrong)!

Linux, lol. The phone has a mind of its own sometimes. I’ll correct it in the original post.

I have no bias towards any clinic. I do have objectivity and clarity of what HLE’s purpose is. While you can disagree you are not in my position. You do not receive messages daily from users. You are not privy to information regarding conversations and events that occurred.

Many clinics have experienced the odd poor review on a forum. But the numbers and the time frame are unprecedented.

HLE allowed users to continue their updates unhindered, the only matter that changed was the clinic was no longer a sponsor. HLE is a well established platform. A sponsor has the gravitas attached to HLE and this automatically for many gives them greater credibility, lifting their profile. Along with this comes a great deal of responsibility from the clinic. After discussing with the clinic sponsorship would not be renewed.

But, patient updates are still available to see. If the users still wish to. Regardless of their positive or negative comments. That is the point of free speech. HLE is not an echo chamber or fan based, clinics use them to showcase their work. Users in general post to help others in their research. HLE has built a strong community and constantly helps many through their hair loss issues. Along with others, their clinic patients are still in contact with me, some have posted, others prefer not to. They are afforded the same help that anyone would.

Well you should post your own thread so the forum can see your results and specially a resurrection for the Dr after so much critique and not focus on typos of other members to make fun of them.

It will do more good than your talking you are doing at the moment.

I had my 12 month review on the 15th, having had my transplant procedure in July 2021. I have sparse regrowth in some areas which meant hairline was not quite what I was hoping for. The Dr said that they didn't do free topups but would discuss with the practice manager to see what kind of arrangement could be arrived at. I'm still waiting to hear back...

Hi LFCfan. Do you have any pictures from before, during and your 12 months?

Hi all, I’ve been considering this clinic for a while but got a bit concerned after seeing that a large amount of people posting on here and another forum have needed a ‘top up’ due to density issues.

I don’t think I’ve seen any of the results post top-up just yet (apologies if I missed them!) If anyone out there can share their experiences it would be appreciated. I don’t necessarily mind having a ‘top up’ if it means that the final result is more or less perfect, but if poor yields have been occurring even after a second pass then that would be reason to avoid. Thanks in advance guys
Hi mate. Here are my pre and 12 month post op pictures with The Hair Dr. I’ve put a hair band in just so you can see the hairline when it’s pulled back.

Is it possible if anybody could highlight what changes the clinic have made to address the problem regarding the number of patients needing top ups/repairs? I’ve read on another forum a statement by the moderator in which he has mentioned having regular contact with Dr Arshad and the clinic, and they’ve found and made the necessary changes to address the issue. The problem is, nobody seems to know what was causing the problem, nor does anybody seem to know what changes they’ve made. I’ve tried to discuss this with the clinic but it’s been refuted in which they’ve alleged competitor clinics using fake accounts have been posting. The only accounts I’ve seen on here and other forums have been genuine patients, so I’m struggling to believe competitor clinics are making fake accounts to damage the reputation of the clinic.

I will be fully updating my thread at some stage, but have been quiet as I’ve attempted to address my dissatisfaction privately - unfortunately the responses I’ve had haven’t been good, and I’ve had to chase the clinic numerous times as they’ve been non responsive. They claimed Dr Arshad being on leave was a reason for a late response, but I’d seen new patients post the day of their surgery when they’ve said he was still on leave? The way I’ve been treated by the clinic has been pretty shocking if I’m honest and I will share more on my own thread. I know there’s patients who’ve had a positive experience and may find it difficult to believe the clinic being unethical, but fortunately for those who’ve had a positive result and experience, you’ve not fallen into the category as it seems many of us have, and I can’t express enough how frustrating it is.

Following Sommiya telling me I could no longer message the clinic on WhatsApp and could only email, she told me to get a 2nd opinion as she couldn’t see why I have an issue with my result. I did get a 2nd opinion from a surgeon who’s one of the most sought after globally, and he confirmed my donor has been overharvested and my results are poor. I’ve gone back to the clinic with this and they’ve refuted this, claiming the reason they’ve said this is because they’re a competitor clinic. The surgeon I had a 2nd opinion with has no reason to make such false statements - he’s highly regarded in the industry and I highly doubt he’d say such things to try and damage the reputation of the clinic.

As mentioned above, if anybody could offer some transparency on the issue resulting with top ups needed, that would be appreciated.

Hi mate. I’m going to be updating my thread soon - I do have pictures on there you can look at, the situation is still the same - Thin hair line mainly on the left side (although still thin on the right) and thin crown, as well as the lateral humps on my left side. There has been some growth, but when I’ve not got regain in or product/thickening spray in, the spareness is greater. Majority of my updated photos I have regain in - I use a foam and it does bind some of the hairs creating an illusion of thickness - I’ve realised much later on it does this.

As I’ve initially stated, The moderator of the other forum has openly stated he has had conversations with Dr Arshad, who has allegedly informed the moderator he has found what was causing problem with poor results and has corrected this - but nobody seems to know. There’s a code of conduct for best practice within the professional field as a surgeon (as well as many other professions) and being transparent about what may have gone wrong is one of the key principles.

Again, if anybody could shed some light on this, it would be appreciated.
